Chapter 10: Caring For Their Lover

Goh's POV:

When I told Chloe about my crush yesterday, it honestly felt so much better. It felt like a weight had been lifted from my shoulders, and then I was really refreshed the next day.
I stretched my arms and then got put of bed. I stood up and checked up on Ash who was sleeping above me, but he didn't look right.
His snoring sounded off and he looked super uncomfortable. I felt his head and it was burning hot.
"Hey Ash!" I called.
He coughed and spluttered a little but then opened his eyes and sat up straight, snot dripping down his nose.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"I think I might have a cold..." He mumbled in response.
"Yeah it looks like it..." I sighed, I really wanted to spend time with him today...
I heard some yawning and I turned around to find that Serena had just woken up. She looked over at us but she looked really concerned when she looked over at Ash.
"What's wrong with Ash?" She asked me, that's the first time she's talked to me in a while.
"I think he's got a cold," I explained.
"Oh no!" She replied.
She stood up and walked over to me.
"It's fine Goh, I can look after him if you want to go and do other stuff!" She said.
"What?!" I exclaimed as that came out of nowhere, "I'm staying here and looking after him!"
"No, I am!" She snapped back.
"I am!" I retorted.
The door suddenly opened and Chloe walked in.
"Is everything okay in here?" She asked.
"Yes, everything is good!" I replied.
"We totally weren't just arguing right now!" Serena said and then started giggling nervously.
"Okay... is Ash okay?" Chloe questioned.
"He's got a cold," The honey-blonde haired girl sighed.
"Oh okay, well my dad wants you to go to the Crown Tundra to find Galarian Articuno, could you two do that?" The maroon haired girl said.
"But what about Ash?" I asked.
"You two could just do it together," Chloe replied.
"It just wouldn't be the same..." I sighed.
"Okay, well I have to be off now so see you later!" She said and waved goodbye.
We waved her off and then once she was gone, me and Serena glared at each other. We knew the fight wasn't over yet.
"Anyway, I'm looking after Ash!" Serena shouted.
"No, I am!" I yelled back.
"Couldn't b-both of you l-look after me?" Ash asked quietly.
"No!" The honey-blonde haired girl denied the request.
"The fact that you don't care about Ash's idea shows that you shouldn't care for him... but, let's just do what he says, okay?" I replied.
"Fine," She grumbled.
So with that, for the rest of the day, we looked after Ash. We entertained him with stories, made up plays for him and even made drawings for him.
Neither of us really wanted to work together, but we had to.
After giving Ash one last spoon of medicine, he drifted off into sleep. Me and Serena both smiled down at him but then frowned when we looked over at each other.
There was now some tension between us, but we decided not to address it...

Now that I'm off for the summer holidays, I'm going to try and work on this a little more often
