The next few weeks on your part are filled with studying, training, and preparations both for your midterms and for the Sports Festival. Of course, it's a massive opportunity for your future and for yourself. This is something you want to take very seriously.

Today is the first day of your midterms. You wake up an hour earlier to get to school at a reasonable time rather than your usual three minutes before the bell, and get there early enough to have a mini review and study session with your friends before class. You're not that worried about the midterms that'll be taking place today, but you are definitely, 100% worried about the midterms that'll be happening tomorrow.

Today's midterms are English, which you know you'll at least pass and will probably get a good mark on, and classical history, which you're additionally not worried about. Chikaya's a history nut. It's one of the reasons he became a police officer.

Unfortunately, Denki, Mina, and Sero are all very worried.

"[Name], [Name], this is not good. I'm not passing this. There's no way!" Denki cries out, gripping your shoulders and taking one out of Tetsutetsu's book by shaking you ferociously.

Mina laughs but she's not actually smiling. No, if her eyes could be bloodshot they would be. Her yellow eyes are trained on her history book, reading through a page that's entirely highlighted. ("I highlight the things I don't know!" She'd told you once.)

She's highlighting more things as she laughs and reads. You don't have the heart to tell her she's not going to have time to go back and review.

Shoji's reading over his own English notes quietly with Jiro, but they both seem to be stuck on something. Jiro's pointing things out with her earphone jack, but they both keep shaking their heads, tilting them skywards, sighing and looking at each other in utter, complete bewilderment. Truly it's a sight to behold from two usually very composed people. The stress gets to everyone in their own way, you suppose.

English is one of your strongest subjects, so you bounce over to them, a bunch of nervous energy causing you literally to jump around. Jirou snorts at you, and Shoji offers you a fond smile.

"What's with the hops, [Last Name]?"Jirou asks in amusement.

"Nervous!"

Shoji can't stop himself from snorting as well when you squeak out your answer, still jumping in place. You force yourself to stop, before your fingers find each other and you fiddle with your cuticles, looking over at what Shoji and Jiro are struggling about.

"What are you talking about?" You ask, stumbling over your words. You accidentally mispronounce the entire sentence, but you get your point across. Jirou giggles again, before she coughs, and smiling, she points out the sentence structure.

"These clauses here. They don't start how those ones do. We're trying to figure out why." She explains to you. Shoji catches your hands in two of his own without looking, trying to memorize some participial verbs in the few more minutes you have before your exam.

"Stop picking at your skin, please," He asks you very politely. One of his arms changes into an eye, and while he's studying he begins to bandage up your hand. "You're going to start bleeding. It's not good for you, hm?"

"Okay!" You agree mindlessly. His request goes through one ear and right out your other without ever making it to your brain. "Oh, those aren't sentences. That's why they start with a verb!"
