Chapter One: Marriage out of love

"You seemed tensed Stefan?" One of his colleagues asks. Stefan drinks the liquor. "Just work pressure" he says. It's a lie. It's not work pressure. It's his wife, Elena Gilbert Salvatore.

He fell in love with Elena the second he laid eyes on her. And he wanted to marry her at any cost. He tried to reach out to her, even sent a marriage proposal to her in some way but he was rejected. It broke his heart. He didn't pressure her though. He moved on from that.

But few weeks later, Elena's mother reached out to Stefan's aunt if he was still interested and available. He was though. He was dying to know her.

They met. She didn't talk much which he completely understood. Probably because he was a total stranger and well she probably didn't talk much.

A week later they got married. The marriage happened in hurry. Stefan wanted to take more time but Elena's family kept pressuring him that they needed to get married soon which was really a mystery.

The wedding night, Stefan didn't know what to say to her or what to do with her because she was so beautiful and precious. She looked like those forbidden fruit that you wanted for your life. And finally you've got it but you don't know how to have it, keep it.

He slowly approached to her, she didn't say anything. He gently cupped her face, leaned down to kiss her, she accepted and kissed him back. He was thrilled to find her attracted to him. He led them on bed and made love to her. Ate her out, went inside her. She moaned, she screamed, she orgasmed but she didn't beg. Didn't tell him to keep going, didn't scratch his back or neither she did pull him closer to her.

Maybe because it was her first time with her husband. She wasn't virgin, he knew it. He was a doctor after all. But later everytime he had sex with her, she didn't respond. She was usually laid there just like their first time. It was like she was fulfilling her wife duty.

He took her out, she went. She smiled but it wasn't like she was smiling willingly just fulfilling the formalities. She didn't talk much to him. She never said "I love you" to him ever. When he said only then she'd reply. She always made sure whatever he nedeed, he always got in time. She was basically a trophy wife that Stefan never wanted.

A year of marriage they eventually got pregnant and welcomed their first child, a son named Liam Salvatore. During Elena's pregnancy, Stefan treated her like a queen. Elena seemed as usual. She was not unhappy but wasn't happier either.

Elena was happy to hold her son in her arms. Stefan loved to see the two loves of his life together. And then they welcomed their second child, a daughter named Maria Salvatore who was one and half year younger than her elder brother. Elena made Stefan's life complete. He was happy with them, with his son and daughter and his lovely wife. Elena was happy with her children but was she ever happy with Stefan?

"Hey, I'm home" Stefan said, a little drunk. Elena was sitting on the couch, reading something. She looked up to him. "Go freshen up, I'll serve you dinner" she said, preparing herself to get up.

"No" Stefan stumbled. "I had dinner. I just need to sleep" he said. Elena looked tensed but she nodded.

Elena went to the room half an hour later. Stefan was standing in the balcony, seeing stars. She picked out her nightie to wear and was ready to go back.

"Elena" he called. Elena started walking towards him. "Yeah" she said. Stefan put his hand on her waist and kissed her lips. She immediately kissed him back but she smelled liquor. He was highly drunk.

She broke the kiss. "You're drunk" she said. Stefan giggled. "Yeah, because I need the courage to ask you" he said. Elena looked confused. "What courage?" She asked.
