Chapter 7: Entourage (III)
"I'm a fan of your magazine. I'm so happy that you're doing great." Elena says happily. She looks so changed. She wasn't open up like this before. She looks cheery and happy. Maybe she's got a boyfriend. Maybe he's making her happy. She should be though... But with him only.
"Thank you, Elena. Means a lot and here is your home" Stefan says. Elena pouts. "We're home now, so fast." She says as she gets up.
"Hey, why don't you come?" Elena invites him. Stefan shakes his head. "Maybe another day." He says. Elena tilts her head. "A cup of coffee would not harm you or you want me to pay you to drink coffee with me?" Elena asks playfully causing Stefan to laugh.
"Let's go." He says.
It's the first time Stefan is at Elena's place. It's simple but exceptional. He looks around if he can spot a picture of her with her new boyfriend. He sees one actually. A white guy, looks younger. He takes it in his hand, ready to smash it up in his mind.
"That's my brother." She says from his behind. Stefan turns back and smiles at her. "Yeah, he looks younger." He says placing it back where it was.
"Yes, he's two years younger than me." Elena says handing him coffee. "Thank you" he says, taking a sip. "Mmm" he says. "It's good." Really good.
Elena smiles. "Thank you." She says cheerfully. "So, how are you doing?" Stefan asks her, siting more comfortablely into her couch.
"Meetings, conferences, stresses, coffees" she says shaking the coffee mug up. Stefan smiles. "Yeah, same" he says.
They stay silent. Don't know how to make a conversation now. Their coffees are about to finish too.
"I'm sorry for that night, Elena. I was going on to something and I took it out on you." Stefan says out of nowhere. They know it'd go there. "It was my fault. You were being nice to me but I paid you off. It was low of me to do something like that. I'm sorry." Elena says.
Stefan closes his eyes. "It's not. You were just being insecured." He says. Elena licks her lips. "Well, I'm not now." She says confidently "I never was actually." She adds.
Stefan smiles. "But you were sometimes." He says.
Elena gets up. "I think it's late. You should go." She indirectly tells him to get out. Stefan rolls his tongue and stands up. "And here I was thinking you changed. Actually you haven't changed a bit at all." He says.
"Wearing a suit, having a successful publication can't change what's inside. Cold and empty" she says.
"You're just impossible, Elena. I see the jealousy too. You're jealous that my magazine has doing better than yours. Be jealous, Elena. Because I'm going to crush it down and watch you fall." He says angrily.
"Even if I fall, I will never go back to you, Stefan. You pathetic man baby" she screams at him.
"The only baby here is you. Thanks for the coffee and I had better than that" he insults her. Elena can't take it anymore. She pushes him backward. Stefan stumbles back. She does it again.
"Elena stop" Stefan says, his hot breath is going in and out in his nostrils. She's so mad at him, right now. She pushes him again. "I said stop" he says but she doesn't. She pushes him again and this time Stefan holds her wrists.
She fights him back but no use. He spins her and keeps her against the wall. His lips fall on hers. She immediately kisses him back. It's been so long since they had kissed.
The kiss is aggressive. She breaks it. "Stefan, we can't." She whispers against his lips. "We can" he encourages her as he kisses her again.
She breaks it again. "I can't" she says softly hoping he'd stop. But he doesn't. His lips fall on her neck and collarbone, kissing her with passion like she's the most expensive and precious thing in this world.
