Jungkook's POV

The dimly lit room reeked of cigar smoke and desperation. The man in front of me, old, fat, and pale, leaned back in his chair, puffing his cigar with a smug expression. His eyes gleamed with satisfaction, as if he had already won.

"Jungkook, you have to sign it. For your younger sister," he said, his voice dripping with manipulation.

I glanced at my father, who stood by the door, his eyes boring into mine. He looked at me as if I were still the obedient son who always followed orders without question. But this wasn't just any order. This was a deal of relationships, a trade that felt like a betrayal.

My heart pounded in my chest, each beat a reminder of the impossible choice before me. I couldn't fathom the idea of trading a relationship, reducing it to mere signatures on a piece of paper. Yet, it was for my younger sister. The thought of her, innocent and vulnerable, trapped in a situation she didn't deserve, tore at my resolve.

I looked down at the documents, the words blurring together as I fidgeted with the pen between my fingers. Every part of me screamed to refuse, to walk away from this repugnant deal. But the stakes were too high, and the pressure too intense.

"I need time to think about it," I said, my voice steady despite the storm raging inside me.

The man's smirk faltered, replaced by a flicker of irritation. He leaned forward, his eyes narrowing. "Time is a luxury you don't have, Jungkook. Your sister's future depends on this. Don't be foolish."

I clenched my jaw, my gaze shifting to my father. He remained silent, his expression unreadable, but his eyes were expectant, urging me to comply. The tension in the room thickened, suffocating me.

My thoughts raced. Could I live with myself if I signed those papers? Could I bear the weight of this decision, knowing it was against everything I stood for? But then, could I live with the consequences if I didn't?

"Think about your sister, Jungkook," my father finally spoke, his voice low but firm. "This is the best way to secure her future."

I took a deep breath, my mind a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. I knew what was at stake, but I also knew that signing those papers meant compromising my integrity, something I swore I'd never do.

"Just give me one night," I said, looking directly at the man. "One night to think it over."

He snorted, clearly annoyed, but nodded begrudgingly. "Fine. One night. But remember, the clock is ticking."

As I left the room, the weight of the decision pressed heavily on my shoulders. I needed to clear my mind, to find a way to protect my sister without losing myself in the process.

Later that night, I sat alone in my room, the documents spread out before me. My thoughts drifted to my sister's smile, her laughter, the way she looked up to me with trust and admiration. I couldn't let her down, but I also couldn't betray my principles.

The decision seemed impossible, but deep down, I knew what I had to do. I had to find another way, a way that didn't involve compromising my integrity or trading relationships like commodities.

The night stretched on, but my resolve hardened. Tomorrow, I would face that man again, but this time, I would be ready. I would protect my sister, but on my terms, not his.

As the first light of dawn crept through my window, I knew I had found my answer. I just hoped it would be enough.

My sister, Jeon Jihun, had fallen in love with Kevin Andrew, the son of John Andrew. I could see how madly Kevin was in love with her as well, the way his eyes lit up whenever she entered the room, the way he looked at her like she was his whole world. It should have been a beautiful love story. But John Andrew had turned their relationship into a cold, calculated trade.
