Nien's POV
"Uncle John sees me as his own daughter," I began, pacing around my living room. "So, naturally, he asked me to marry this guy named Jungkook. You should've seen the first day we met. He ignored me entirely, making this annoying sulking face. It was as if I'd offended him just by existing."
I heard my best friend Yubin sigh on the other end of the line. She was used to my dramatic recounting of events by now. "And his mother?" she asked, sounding only half-interested.
"Oh, his mother was a sweetheart. She talked to me so much, it was like she'd known me forever," I said, rolling my eyes. "But Jungkook? He sat there like a demon at our first date, which Jihun had set up at this super cute restaurant in Seoul."
I paused, remembering how I had walked up to him, half scoffing at his attitude and half in awe of how divine he looked. "He's so goddamn divine," I admitted, blushing at the memory. "You should've seen him, Yubin. I looked at him closely, and his lip piercing was just adding fuel to his beauty. I mean, seriously, I had to lick my lips to keep my composure."
Yubin chuckled, and I could almost see her rolling her eyes. "You sound like an anchor reporting very unserious news."
"Well, it felt pretty serious to me at the time!" I defended, flopping onto my couch. "He was just sitting there, tapping his feet impatiently. And when I finally introduced myself as Lee Nien, he barely acknowledged me. Just nodded and straightened his back like he was about to face an executioner."
"Sounds like a real charmer," Yubin teased.
"Oh, you have no idea," I continued, my voice dripping with sarcasm. "He asked me why everyone calls me Cherry, and he actually told me to eat rather than talk. Like, who does that?"
Yubin laughed outright. "Maybe he was just trying to save himself from bleeding ears."
"Very funny," I retorted, though I couldn't help but smile. "But seriously, the way he ate—shoving meat into his mouth and licking the juice from his lips—I almost thought he was trying to seduce me."
"Maybe he was," Yubin suggested. "Or maybe he just really likes meat."
I sighed, running a hand through my hair. "Who knows? After that, I asked if he wanted dessert. He cleared his throat, looked away, and said, 'Do you want to say something?' I told him I wanted something sweet, and he ordered vanilla ice cream. Like, could he get more predictable?"
"Vanilla, huh? Just like you," Yubin teased again.
"Shut up," I laughed. "After the ice cream, which he barely touched, the waiter brought the bill. I paid for it, and you should've seen his face. He looked like I'd just declared I was going to take over the world."
"Typical rich guy," Yubin said. "Thinks he's in charge of everything."
"Exactly!" I exclaimed. "He even said, 'I'm in charge here, you shouldn't have to pay.' I told him I paid this time, so he could pay next time. But honestly, I don't understand what's going on in his mind. He's cute, confident, and totally different from my taste."
"Well, it sounds like you're in for an interesting ride," Yubin concluded. "Just remember, Nien, don't let him get under your skin too much. Keep your cool."
"Oh, I will," I promised, a mischievous grin spreading across my face. "I have a feeling this is just the beginning."

I parked my beautiful Porsche in the garage, my eyes narrowing at the sight of a Black Harley Davidson Fat Bob standing there. Squinting, I locked the car and grabbed my Dior bag, rolling my eyes and assuming it must belong to Kevin or someone else.
