Jungkook's POV
Leaning against my wife's Porsche, I took a moment to admire the sleek lines of her car, much like how I admire her every day. The car's polished surface reflected the evening light, but my mind was more focused on the fact that we were running late. We had to attend her company's anniversary party, and she was nowhere to be seen yet. My impatience was getting the better of me as I paced back and forth near the car, occasionally checking my reflection in the car's mirror. I adjusted my tie, making sure everything was in place.
Just as I was about to glance at my watch again, I heard the unmistakable click of heels approaching. I turned around, and there she was—Nien, my wife, looking absolutely breathtaking in a shiny red wine dress. The way the fabric hugged her figure, the way it shimmered in the light, I was momentarily speechless. She walked toward me with that confident grace she has, raising her eyebrows as if to ask, "How do I look?"
I couldn't help but put my hand over my heart in a dramatic gesture, as if I were on the verge of fainting. "DEATH," I said, letting the single word convey exactly how she made me feel—like I was going to drop dead from how stunning she looked.
Nien rolled her eyes at my theatrics but couldn't hide the small smile that tugged at her lips. Without missing a beat, she opened the passenger door and slipped into her seat, still wearing that playful expression on her face. I chuckled softly to myself and made my way to the driver's side, sliding into the seat next to her.
Before I even thought about buckling my seatbelt, I leaned over toward her, noticing a stray strand of hair that had fallen out of place. I gently tucked it behind her ear, taking the opportunity to steal a kiss from those well-plumped lips of hers. She tasted like sweet berries, and I lingered a moment longer, savoring the connection.
When I finally pulled back, I saw the faint blush on her cheeks, and it made my heart swell. "You're really going to be the death of me, you know that?" I teased, my voice low and full of affection.
She didn't say anything, just gave me that look—one that was equal parts exasperation and adoration. I grinned and buckled my seatbelt, feeling like the luckiest guy in the world. With Nien by my side, looking as gorgeous as she did, I knew this evening was going to be unforgettable.
I started the engine, the car purring to life, and as we pulled out of the driveway, I couldn't resist sneaking another glance at her. This woman, who could turn heads without even trying, was all mine. And I couldn't wait to show her off tonight, even if it meant keeping a close eye on any wandering gazes that might linger a little too long on her.
We drove off into the night, the city lights reflecting in the rearview mirror, and I reached over to take her hand in mine. She squeezed it softly, a silent understanding passing between us. We were partners in everything, and tonight would be no different.
As Nien walked confidently into the banquet hall, I couldn't help but follow her with a proud smile tugging at the corners of my lips. She moved with such grace, like she was on an Instagram runway, capturing everyone's attention without even trying. Her red wine dress shimmered under the lights, making her the undeniable star of the evening. I was a few steps behind her, letting her take the lead, but also enjoying the view—both of her elegance and the way people turned their heads to watch her.
As we made our way through the crowd, one of her colleagues approached us. They greeted her warmly, but I noticed how their eyes quickly flicked to me, curious and maybe a bit intimidated. Nien, ever the gracious host, introduced me with a smile, "This is my husband, Jungkook."
Hearing her say that, my chest swelled with pride. There was a moment of pure joy bubbling inside me—I was practically dancing on the inside. But on the outside, I maintained a cool, neutral expression. I've never been one to show much emotion in public; all my expressions seem to be reserved for my wife and close family. Here, in this sea of suits and evening gowns, I suddenly felt my introverted side kick in.
