An angel, beloved by all others, turned her back on heaven for a human she fell deeply in love with. This act of defiance left the other angels feeling betrayed by the one they once revered. The name of this angel was Arella.

Arella's secret was exposed when she gave birth to a mere human child, an act that brought disgrace upon the celestial beings. The angels, outraged and feeling betrayed, reported her actions, and it was decreed that the child must be disposed of immediately.

Desperate to save her child, Arella descended to earth, entrusting the infant to its human father. She returned to the heavens, determined to keep the child's whereabouts a secret. When the other angels interrogated her, she remained resolutely silent. In the end, her silence cost her her life; she was executed by her own kind.

Years passed, and the angels scoured the earth in search of the child. They believed that a mere human with angelic wings could not possibly survive the dangers posed by the mortal realm, especially with demons lurking, craving the power of angelic wings.

As time went by, the angels seemed to abandon their search for the child—or perhaps they were simply waiting for her to reveal herself.

Years later, the child, now a teenager named Mia, attended high school. Each day, Mia found excuses to escape to the abandoned rooftop where she could unfurl her wings. She felt confined by hiding them and longed for the freedom to fly.

One day, as Mia spread her wings and gazed at the sky, the wind tousling her hair, she was lost in a reverie. A voice abruptly shattered her tranquility.

"What are you supposed to be, a chicken?" the voice mocked.

Mia flinched, looking up to see a boy perched on the maintenance room roof, staring down at her with a mix of curiosity and amusement.

"I'm n-not a... chicken. Who are you?" Mia stammered, trying to hide her surprise.

The boy chuckled, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "The real question is, what are you? But I guess I have no reason to hide who I am."

He jumped down from the maintenance roof, landing gracefully. Grinning, he introduced himself.

"Name's Alex. And you are?"

Mia remained silent for a moment, unsure of how much to reveal. "I'm not a chicken, so stop calling me that."

"Then what are you, really?" Alex pressed, his curiosity piqued.

"I'm... I... No, forget it," Mia replied, shaking her head.

"What happened, Chicken? Cat got your tongue?" He advanced towards her, causing her to step back nervously.

"It's something that shouldn't concern you," Mia insisted, her voice trembling slightly.

He continued to approach, backing her against the fence, his arms on either side of her, trapping her.

"What d-do you think y-you're doing?" she stuttered, her heart racing.

"Getting an answer," he replied, his tone unwavering.

"Is t-this how you get s-someone to answer y-you?"

"Yes, got a problem, Chicken?"

"I'm n-not a chicken."

"Then what are you?" Alex's eyes bore into hers, demanding the truth.

"I'm... I-I'm an... angel," Mia finally confessed, her voice barely above a whisper.

Alex looked into her eyes, then laughed. "You're not lying... haha... you really are an angel."

"Yes, now can you get away from me? You're too close," she murmured, looking down to avoid his gaze.

"Sure, Chicken," he said, stepping back. She sighed in relief, finally free from his proximity. As she leaned against the fence, a loud crack echoed. Mia's eyes widened in realization, but it was too late. The fence gave way, and she plummeted off the roof. Alex leaped, grabbing her hand, struggling to hold on.

"IDIOT, HOLD ON!"

"I'M TRYING!"

Their hands slipped further apart.

"YOU'RE SLIPPING! YOU HAVE WINGS FOR A REASON! USE THEM!" Alex shouted desperately.

"I DON'T KNOW... AHH... HOW TO..." Her hands slipped from his, and she began to fall. He stood frozen, unable to move, as she slipped away.

"F-...fly," he muttered. Louder, "Fly..." And finally, he shouted, "...FLY!"

She closed her eyes as she fell toward the ground. Alex shut his eyes, unwilling to witness her crash. Suddenly, he heard her voice.

"Open your eyes... I'm fine."

He opened his eyes to see her hovering in the air, her wings outstretched. He grabbed her hand, pulling her towards him.

"ARE YOU STUPID!? HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW HOW TO FLY!?"

"Stop shouting! It's not my fault I've never tried flying. I've been hiding my wings for so long, it's only reasonable I can't use them!" she said, looking away, ashamed.

He sighed, speaking more calmly. "Whatever, you still could have died. Let's get out of here before anyone sees us. That fence falling must have drawn attention."

Still holding her hand, they left the roof and headed to the back of the school.

"Why did you bring me here?" she asked.

"You don't want to get caught, right? That's why I brought you here."

"Yeah, but won't it be more suspicious that we're not seen after that fence fell? Plus, the teachers know we're not in class."

"Uh... right. I didn't think about that."

"Shall we go then and, uh... could you let go of my hand?"

He released her hand, rubbing the back of his neck. "I forgot I was holding it, my bad."

"I'll get going now."

"Wait! I didn't get your name."

"You're going to call me Chicken anyway."

"That's true... But I'd still like to know all about you." He grins mischievously.

"...uhm...I-its... Mia"

"Well than see you around Mia", she gives a smirk than he walks away, waving, not looking back.

The day ended, and Mia returned home, setting her bag down and removing her shoes as she entered.

"Dad, I'm home," she called, her voice echoing through the empty house.

"I guess he's not here," she muttered to herself.

CRASH!! The sound came from her father's room.

"What was that?! It came from Dad's room! DAD! DAD!"

She ran to her father's room, reaching for the door handle. It was locked.

"DAD! OPEN THE DOOR! DAD!" She tried the handle again. CRASH!!

"DON'T COME IN, MIA!" her father shouted from behind the door. Another CRASH!!

"DAD! WHAT IS HAPPENING?! OPEN THE DOOR!"

Mia tried forcing the door open, struggling until it finally gave way. She opened it to see her father in the clutches of a demon.

"Hello, Mia, haha..." the demon said in a chillingly sadistic voice.
