"Hello, Mia. Haha..." the demon said in a voice dripping with sadistic amusement.

"Well, if it isn’t kaelir. Don’t you have anything better to do than annoy me?" Mia retorted, crossing her arms.

"Aww, you wound me, Mia," he replied sarcastically, clutching his chest in mock pain. "Don’t you just love it when I come to…play with you?"

He dropped her father to the ground, who groaned in confusion, his eyes darting between the two. kaelir, ignoring him entirely, sauntered towards Mia. In a swift motion, he grabbed her by the waist, pulling her closer. Leaning in with a deep, low voice, he whispered into her ear, "Won’t you play with me, Master~?"

"Shut up,kaelir. I’m not your master!" she hissed, struggling to push him away.

He smirked, his crimson eyes gleaming with amusement. "Oh? Is it because your father’s here? Shall I take you somewhere more…private?"

"No! That’s—!" she began, but before she could finish, he whisked her away with a snap of his fingers.

Mia’s inner voice screamed in frustration, Darn this demon!

---

kaelir wasn’t your typical demon. Unlike his kin, he didn’t crave destruction, mayhem, or souls. No, he desired one thing: a master. He just happened to stumble upon Mia—a rare half-angel, half-human. Of course, he took it as fate (or sheer convenience).

Ever since that fateful meeting, kaelir had made it his mission to convince her to be his master. Why? Only Mia could tell you, but if you asked kaelir, he’d give you a hundred reasons why she was perfect.

At one desperate moment, Mia was forced to seek kaelir’s help. Naturally, she refused at first (she had pride, after all). But kaelir, sly as he was, managed to strike a deal as she was in desperation and this deal came with a condition. He wanted something only she could give him. Something valued to his kind: a name.

To name a demon was to grant them power and bind them to you. But Mia, being blissfully unaware of the implications, had agreed. From that moment on, kaelir followed her like an overgrown, smug puppy who was already halfway convinced she loved him.

---

When Mia opened her eyes, she found herself surrounded by a field of flowers under a clear blue sky. The sight was beautiful—if not for the fact that she had been kidnapped.

"Why don’t you get it already, kaelir? I’m not your master! And where the hell are we!?" she snapped, glaring at him.

“But you named me, kaelir”,he replied innocently, conveniently ignoring her second question.

“What does—” she started, only to be interrupted as he grabbed her hand, his touch surprisingly gentle.

He leaned down, kissing the back of her hand. “You are my rightful master. You named me. You made me yours…even if just a little.”

"You lying son of a—"

kaelir pressed a finger to her lips, silencing her. "Ah, ah, such foul words coming from such a pretty face."

Her irritation reached its peak as she slapped his hand away. "Just send me back already!"

"No can do, Master," he said with a shrug and a grin.

“You infuriate me…”

Before kaelir could reply, his ears perked up. He tilted his head towards the nearby forest, his expression sharpening. “Master, looks like we have company.”

"Any company is good company if it isn’t you," Mia muttered under her breath.

“Hmm? Oh, really? Even if it’s another demon?” he teased.

Her head whipped toward the forest, where rustling leaves and heavy footsteps signaled something sinister. Her eyes widened as a massive figure emerged from the shadows.

"Never mind. I take that back," she said quickly.

kaelir laughed, his voice rich with amusement. "That’s what I like to hear."

“You’re enjoying this, aren’t you?” she accused, glaring at him.

"Of course. Nothing beats a good squabble with you before a fight."

“Whatever. Just go handle it already!” she ordered, pointing at the advancing demon.

"What?"

“What do you mean, what? Aren’t you going to get rid of it!?"

"When," he said with an infuriating grin, "did I ever say I would?"

“WHAT!?”

As their argument reached a boiling point, the demon barreled toward them, its massive frame blocking out the sunlight. Mia sighed, already regretting naming that darn demon.
