Y/N and Kaito stood at the helm of their ship, the Seastorm, as they approached TuTu Island. The sun was beginning its descent, casting a warm, golden glow over the azure waves. Seagulls called out overhead, and the scent of the sea mingled with something more intriguing—something rich and savoury that teased their senses even from a distance.
"I've heard so many stories about this place," Y/N said, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
Y/N: "The best cooks in the world gather here. This is going to be amazing!"
Kaito nodded, though his focus was more on the bustling port that was gradually coming into view.
Kaito: "And we need supplies. Let's hope the stories about the food aren't just stories."
As the Seastorm slid into the harbour, they were greeted by a clamour of sounds and colours. The port was alive with activity. Fishermen hauled in their latest catches, merchants shouted about the freshest produce, and a horde of tantalizing aromas filled the air—roasting meats, exotic spices, and sweet pastries.
Y/N and Kaito tied their ship to the dock and stepped onto the island. Immediately, they were enveloped in the vibrancy of TuTu Island's main marketplace. Stalls lined the streets, overflowing with a dazzling array of fruits, vegetables, meats, and spices. People bustled about, haggling over prices and sampling wares.
A cheerful vendor noticed their arrival and waved them over.
Vendor: "Welcome to TuTu Island, travellers! Looking for something to eat or maybe some rare spices?"
Y/N grinned.
Y/N: "Actually, we heard there's an annual cooking competition happening here. Can you tell us more about it?"
The vendor's face lit up.
Vendor: "Ah, you're in luck! The Grand Culinary Duel starts tomorrow. The best chefs from all over TuTu Island and even beyond come to compete. The winner gets the title of Master Chef."
Doku raised an eyebrow. "Master Chef? Great! Whoever wins is going to be apart of my crew!"
The vendor nodded enthusiastically.
Vendor: " They say the master chefs' dishes can capture the essence of the sea itself."
Y/N's excitement grew.
Y/N: "We have to see this Kaito! Cmon! Cmon! And maybe we can find some supplies while we're here."
They wandered deeper into the marketplace, marvelling at the variety and quality of the goods on offer. Everywhere they turned, there were more stalls, each one more enticing than the last. They sampled exotic fruits, bought fresh fish for their journey, and even picked up some rare spices that Kaito insisted would come in handy.
As they explored, they overheard snippets of conversation about the upcoming competition. Apparently, the island was abuzz with rumours about this year's contenders. The excitement was palpable, and Y/N and Kaito couldn't help but get swept up in it.
Just as they were about to head back to the Seastorm with their purchases, they noticed a large bulletin board in the centre of the marketplace. It was covered with posters and announcements, but one in particular caught Y/N's eye.
Y/N: "Look at this," he said, pointing to a brightly coloured poster.
Y/N: "The Grand Culinary Duel. It looks like anyone can enter."
Kaito glanced at the poster and then back at Y/N.
Kaito: "Are you thinking what I'm thinking you are?"
