*Scene opens on Earth, where it is now late in the afternoon. We see Ringo sitting on the sofa in the living room of the house. On the other sofa sits the Baby Glommite and Bartholomew. The Baby Glommite is stacking soup cans on top of each other on the coffee table as a way to past the time. The picture lays on the sofa beside her. Ringo stares at the tv, which has remained off for the entire time they've been in the house. He holds the remote in his hand. as always, the front and back doors are locked, and all the curtains and blinds are closed.*
Ringo: I'd like to see what they're saying about this whole invasion... But... I don't know if it's a good idea. Any alien near this place might hear it... And after what happened earlier... Heh, I've taken enough risks.
*The Baby Glommite finishes building her soup can pyramid, and babbles happily. Ringo smiles at it.*
Ringo: Nice.
*Bartholomew takes a moment to gather energy and, in one great leap, lands on the top. He croaks, turning to look at Ringo.*
Ringo: Just don't knock them over.
*Ringo stares back at the tv again, and looks down at the remote.*
Ringo: Maybe they had it on low volume that last time they used it?
*Thinking for a moment, Ringo gets up and peaks out of the two windows that overlook the front yard. He sees no aliens in sight. Moving the curtains back in place, he stares back at the tv, taking in a breath.*
Ringo: Well... Doesn't look like it's a bad time to try turning it on now.
*Ringo walks over to the sofa that the Baby Glommite rests on and sits down, putting the picture next to the soup can pyramid on the coffee table. He turns the tv on, and it is on a news channel. No sound comes from the set, and Ringo is relieved.*
Ringo: They must have left it on mute then.
*Ringo turns the volume up just a little bit. It is quiet, but he, the Baby Glommite, and Bartholomew can hear it. On the screen, there is a reporter standing in the middle of an empty street. Ringo recognizes it as being on the opposite side of the city from where they are now. Some Glommites can be seen running in the background, scaring the few residents who have chosen to stay in that neighborhood.*
Reporter: So, we still don't know why they're looking for him. But, they've still not given up terrorizing anyone they come accross.
*The Baby Glommite blinks at the screen, never having seen a TV before, let alone a newscast. One Glommite comes into view next to the newsman, and looks at the camera, clearly having no idea what it is.*
Glommite 1: Ay, what's going on here?
Reporter: AAHH!
*The reporter, almost comically, jumps away from Glommite 1, only for another Glommite to approach the scene.*
Glommite 2: You two are hiding Ringo somewhere, aren't you!?
*Glommite 2 charges at the cameraman, causing him to turn around and begin running away. The screen cuts to news desk, where a woman is seen sitting and looking down for e moment before looking back up at the screen.*
Woman: Okay, we'll have to cut away there. Uh, as stated before, please stay inside your homes and do not attempt to make contact with-
*Ringo grunts and turns the tv off.*
Ringo: Just as I expected. They're causing chaos all over the place.
*Ringo looks over at the Baby Glommite, seeing that she is tilting her head at the blank tv screen.*
