Old Mystic Falls: Wilderness

Harper never knew how he was able to regain consciousness, here it is, moving his arms. A scent wafts through the air, and he catches a whiff of it. He keeps searching the ground with his hands until he feels something. He grabs it and brings it closer to his face, then the scent gets much, much stronger.

He doesn't know how blood got into a bad like this, but he doesn't question it when he drinks the entire thing up. He feels everything coming back to him, his touch, his smell, his breathing, his hearing, all of his senses... everything in his body comes back alive.

He finds himself in darkness, but is able to see through it clearly as he stands himself up and patrols the place he doesn't remember being in last. All he does remember is being carried away by those cruel men.

While carrying himself around, he almost trips on a body his feet bump into, causing him to look down and see.... is that Damon Salvatore? Dead? He was turned into a Vampire? He has a stake in his chest, and his dead skin show clear signs of death. But... his corpse seems fresh, like it happened recently.

No wonder he suddenly felt that bag of blood, strangers must've been here.

He sees what looks like a doorway, and pushes through the stone with ease, opening the door that allows him to see in the outside world.

It's bright, but there's no clouds, meaning that the sun isn't out yet. The thought makes him glance down as see that his daylight ring is still on his finger. That's good.

He stumbles himself out of the tomb, where a dirty tunnel thankfully leads him out of the ground and onto the Earth's surface. There, he ambles around the woods, the ruins of the old town makes him confused how long it's been since he mummified. Hopefully, humanity's still left to help him out on that.

He continues moseying along until he spots a man in clothes he has never seen before, hiking across the trees and the rest of mother nature. Hoping that his speed still works, he quickly dashes his way over to him before he loses his help.

When the man hears a root being crushed, he turns around and sees Harper behind him, causing him to slightly jump a little. "Geez, you scared me!" The man exclaims, though chuckles as if it's no big deal.

"Do you know what day it is?" Harper wastes no time in asking the man, his voice slightly raspy as the blood he drank earlier was barely enough to get his body moving. The hiker, perplexed by the query, squints at him.

"It's Saturday." The man answers while clearly wondering why he's asking. Harper looks at the man's attire a second time, and realizes that, that probably won't be enough for him to go by. He'll need more knowledge than that.

 "And what year?"

"It's 2010." The man then answers with a now concerned look on his face for him. Two hundred years, Harper glances down as he quickly does the math and realizes that he's going to be completely out of his league in this new world. "Are you okay?" The hiker then asks him, having noticed how pale his ebony skin is, and how lost his questions seem to be.

However, Harper tries to avoid replying, worried he'll give his nature away. He just nods, grateful. "Thank you."

"Wait." The man stops him, still worried. "What's your name?" He asks him, causing Harper to blink at him in response. This... this white man wants to know his name? That's the first time he's ever heard it aside from the nice lady he met back then.
