MIKHA
Cleo and Aiah were in the kitchen cooking food, but I decided not to interrupt them. Instead, I focused on enjoying the company of my other friends to keep myself busy.
"So, how did you all meet each other?" I asked them.
Lorie smiled and began to explain. "Aiah and I are childhood best friends and neighbors back in Cebu. I met Sia and Sam in high school when I transferred. Who would've thought that Aiah was there too?"
Sia chimed in, "Hindi ko nga alam paano namin natagalan ang isa't isa, when in fact we all have attitude problems."
We all laughed at what she said. The conversation flowed, we shared stories and moments that we experienced before, and it created a lively atmosphere.
While we were busy chatting, I could hear Aiah's laughter from the kitchen. I wondered what she and Cleo were doing that was making them so happy. I felt a mix of curiosity and a hint of jealousy that I tried to brush it off, but it lingered, nagging at the back of my mind.
"Do ya'll want to drink mamaya?" I asked with a firm tone.
"Bakit bro? may nangyari ba?" Cleo asked, noticing my serious demeanor.
I cleared my throat, "Huh? wala naman, bakit masama naba mag aya ngayon." I said, forcing myself a smile.
They all exchanged glances, "Sus, dahil ba dun?" Lorie pouted, pointing her lips at Aiah's direction.
"Hindi ah, I just wanted to ask if you guys are down" I said, shaking my head off.
"Next time na lang, let's enjoy our time like this muna" Sam replied.
I nodded, understanding what she meant. After a few minutes, I saw my friends— Sia and Gen, stealing few glances from each other.
I smiled to myself as i saw their reaction when they suddenly laid their eyes on each other at the same time. Mga galawan niyo talaga.
Sam chuckled "Hindi naman halatang interesado kayo sa isa't isa no?" She said, giving them a teasing look.
Joaquin chimed in "Hindi rin halatang may naiingit no?" She answered sarcastically, glancing at Sam.
"Excuse me, hindi ako inggit" Sam responded, rolling her eyes.
Joaquin scoffed "Excuse me rin, hindi ikaw kausap ko" She responded, raising a brow.
"Sinagot ko lang yung multong nagsasalita" Sam uttered, letting out a small chuckle.
"Ah, anong sabi m-"
Before Joaquin could even continue, I managed to stop her. I gave her a deathly stare that made her pause and fix herself.
"Oh, tama na. Mag timpi muna kayo, kakain pa mamaya" Lorie said, glancing at them both, who were now looking away pretending not to hear her.
"Aj, baka nakakalimutan mong we're invited here. Huwag ka namang makipag away," I added, making sure she heard it.
It was clear they had a love-hate relationship. It was like watching a cute dog and puppy fight, where they bickered but secretly admired each other. Enemies to lovers? I thought to myself.
