AIAH

I woke up to the rays of sunlight striking my face. Sitting up, I leaned against the headboard of my bed, taking a moment to gather my thoughts. I hope today will be a wonderful day, I thought.

Some days were overwhelming, juggling the responsibilities of my father's company with a hectic school schedule. Today, though, I felt a sense of hope. It was Monday, a fresh start to the week, and I was determined to make the most of it.

After a few more moments of quiet reflection, I got up and began my morning routine. Showered and dressed, I grabbed my bag and headed out the door, ready to face the day.

I am Amaiah Pearl Arcelia, or Aiah as everyone calls me. My father is a wealthy businessman in the Philippines, with connections to tycoons and businessmen across Asia and Europe.

While my life is relatively problem-free, my parents' constant bugging about when will i get a partner, irritates me. Their nagging is something I've learned to tune out, but it's still annoying.

At the university, my father's generous donations make me well-known, but it's not just that. People also recognize me for my intelligence.

I've always excelled in my studies. I've dealt with countless admirers trying to get close to me, but I tend to turn them down before they can even make a move.

It's not that I don't appreciate the attention, but none of the advances ever seem to spark anything within me. Maybe one day, love will find its way into my life, but until then, I'm perfectly content with how things are.

As I gaze out the window, I can already see my university from here. I felt a little excitement as we got a little closer.

"Dito na lang, kuya Ed" I uttered. He stopped the vehicle and went out to open the door for me.

"Tawag na lang po kayo ma'am kung susunduin ko na kayo" He said. I simply nodded in agreement as I made my way to the school's gate.

As I walked through the campus, I passed by the field where the archers trained. My eyes were drawn to a familiar figure- a red-haired girl, whom I always see on this field. Who is she? I began to wonder.

There was something captivating about her, something that never failed to catch my attention. Her presence was commanding, exuding a strong, almost magnetic aura that made her stand out effortlessly.

She moved with confidence, each shot she took radiated a sense of dominance and skill that was impossible to ignore.

Today was no different. As our gazes met, a spark formed between us, something intangible yet unmistakable.

It was a connection that only the two of us seemed to recognize. That same spark ignites a silent acknowledgment of something deeper that we both feel but never quite articulate.

I continued walking, I glanced away, but I noticed that the red-haired girl's gaze remained fixed on me. Despite my attempt to divert my attention, she held her stare, her eyes following me with an intensity that was both surprising and intriguing.

A smile tugged at my lips, knowing I had captured her attention. With a quiet sense of satisfaction, I proceeded to my class, feeling a subtle thrill at the unspoken connection between us.

"Huy! baka matunaw yan" I heard Cleo say, snapping her fingers. Her comment made Gen laugh as well.

"You're staring too long, halatang type mo ah" Gen added with a grin, and Cleo chuckled at the remark.

The teasing from my friends snapped me back to reality. I glanced around and saw Cleo and Gen watching me with amused grins. Ang ganda naman kasi talaga, I mean, who is she?

Even as I tried to refocus, the image of the girl remained vivid in my mind. There was something about her that was impossible to ignore.

Though I didn't know her name. I only see her walk past the field where we trained. There was something mesmerizing about her-her beauty was striking, and there was a depth to it that I could sense.

There was an intensity in her gaze that hinted at a depth of character, a kind of inner beauty that matched her outward allure.

I prepared to draw my recurve bow for a shot when I heard Cleo's voice call out, "Para kay Amaiah Arcelia!" The name registered in my mind. Is that her name? I thought to myself. With a mix of focus and curiosity, I released the arrow and hit the bullseye.

"Yun oh, tinamaan ni kupido or more of natamaan na si kupido?" she chuckled, clearly enjoying the playful banter.

I could feel my cheeks flush slightly, but I couldn't help but smile. The name Amaiah Arcelia lingered, adding a new layer of intrigue to my day.

"Titigl kayo o kayo isusunod kong target?" I said, glaring at them.

"Joke lang boss, hindi kana mabiro" she replied, scratching her head.

Cleo continued mocking me, I was already getting annoyed but i reminded myself that she is my bestfriend.

I forced a smile everytime she teased me, they kept laughing at my reaction. Not until i gave them a smack at the back of their heads.

"Aray ko, sabi ko nga titigil na" she muttered, rubbing the back of her head.

"Nadamay pa tuloy ako, gara naman" Gen chuckled.

"Now, let's get back to it bago pa kayo mabalian dyan" I said, as i turned around.
