"C'mon Charlie, just this once!

"No, Pim. For the millionth time, no."

"I'll buy you Salty's if you let me!!"

There was a brief silence.

"...Fine."

"Yay!" Pim clapped his hands out of excitement.

Charlie sighed quietly. Pim had been asking to do this for a long time. Although he hated the way makeup felt on his face, he really did love seeing Pim happy. Plus it was worth it, for the Salty's.

Pim sat Charlie down next to the vanity, the warm lights emitted from the mirror gently illuminated their faces. Pim smiled to himself, already having a picture in mind of how he wanted to do this. After carefully preparing all the products, he began with eyeshadow. Tapping the excess powder off of his brush, he gently glided it across Charlie's eyes. He started with yellow for his base, then black, then white in the inner corners. He topped it off with a light grey glitter shadow.

"Can I look in the mirror?" Charlie asked.

"No, not yet! It's a surprise!" Pim exclaimed.

Charlie began to turn his head towards the mirror, but Pim put his hand up to his face, pushing it back to face Pim.

"Not yet!"

Pim pulled out a black eyeliner and uncapped it. As he brought up the brush to Charlie's face, he leaned in closer to get a better look at what he was doing. He smiled as he painted on the product, feeling the soft breaths from his friend hit his skin. He was so focused on his task, he almost missed the faint blush that grew on Charlie's face.

He smiled at this as he leaned back, admiring his work.

"Well, eyeliners done, now for the hard part." Pim said, pulling out a mascara.

Pim could sense Charlie's unease at the sight of the product. He giggled at this, brushing it against the back of his hand.

"See? The bristles are super soft. I'll be gentle, promise." He reassured.

Once again, he had to lean in to get a better view of what he was doing. With lots of patience, he managed to get on the mascara with only a bit of flinching from Charlie.

"See? All done!" Pim smiled, "Now I just need to add the finishing touches."

He pulled out a black lipstick, making Charlie raise his brow.

"Look man, I don't know much about makeup, but I don't think that shade suits me."

Pim laughed lightly.
"Don't worry, I have a vision!"

And with that, he uncapped the lipstick and twisted it until the product stuck out. He gently put a hand on Charlie's face, keeping him still as he began applying it. Charlie's subtle blush was now much more apparent, his soft breathing hitching every now and then.

Pim took notice of this and backed away a bit, fearing that he had made his friend uncomfortable. He quickly applied the last bit before capping the lipstick and putting it back into its bag.

Pim leaned back, taking in all of his work so far.

"You look beautiful, Charlie." He smiled warmly.

"Uh...thank you." Charlie smiled awkwardly, "could I see it now?"

"Almost." Pim replied, "we have one last thing to add."

Pim pulled out a shimmery powder from his bag. He flipped the cap open to reveal its iridescent shine. Charlie couldn't help but feel a bit excited to see the finished look. He'd never admit it, but he was always fascinated by makeup. He always wondered how he'd look in it, or rather, how he'd feel in it.

Pim leaned in once more, letting the fluffy brush glide across his friends cheeks and nose. He couldn't help but giggle at how red Charlie's face had gotten.

"Are you alright, Charlie? You look like a tomato." Pim giggled.

There was a brief silence as the two locked eyes. Pim's laugh faded into a faint smile as he felt his own face heat up.

Charlie smiled back,
"You look beautiful too, Pim."

Pim's face heated up more, his smile widening as butterflies grew in his stomach.

"Thank you, Charlie." He said softly.
"Well, your makeups done, so you can look now!"

Charlie nodded and turned to look in the mirror.

"Woah. I didn't know you were this good at doing makeup." Charlie said, mesmerized by his new look.

"I've been practicing for a while to be honest. I've started to get into doing it on myself, and I wanted to see how it'd look on you." He smiled sheepishly.

"I'm curious now, I wanna see how you do your own makeup." Charlie wondered out loud.

Pim smiled at this. "I can do mine real quick so that you can see!" He offered, already pulling out his eyeshadows and blush.

Charlie chuckled at this, sitting back in his seat and observing Pim's routine.

Eyeshadow
Blush
Eyeliner
Mascara

Charlie made silent notes of each step, admiring Pim's skill.

Eventually, he finished up his makeup, taking one last look in the mirror before putting away all his products. Finally, he turned to Charlie.

"Tada!" He exclaimed, "what do you think?"

For a moment, Charlie felt dumbfounded.
"You look amazing, Pim. You're so talented."
He praised. He leaned in to get a better look at his shorter friend.

"Ah, I'm not that good, but thank you." Pim denied, his gaze falling to his hands in his lap.

Charlie used his finger and gently nudged Pim's chin upwards, locking their eyes together once more.

"Don't doubt yourself. You're beautiful, Pim."

Pim felt his face growing warm again. He couldn't help but smile at this, even if he didn't believe what Charlie had said.

"Thank you, Charlie." He said softly.

At this point, Charlie knew he should've let go of Pim's face. He should've broken the gaze they were locked in. But he didn't.

Instead, he smiled warmly at his shorter friend, and planted a soft kiss on his cheek.

"There, now your makeups done." He said, pointing to the mirror. Pim looked into it and saw a faint black kiss mark on his cheek. He giggled at this, tracing a finger over it.

"You're adorable." Pim said, standing up from his chair and grabbing his coat.

"So are you." Charlie quietly replied.

Pim chuckled lightly, shaking his head. He slipped on his shoes and grabbed Charlie's hand, leading him towards the door.

"Salty's?"

"Salty's!"
