"How are you feeling?"
I scrubbed my eyes and fixed my hair as i sat up from bed. "Can you please turn the lights off, i want to sleep more." I groaned.
"I take that as a bad sign?" Mom laughed. "You better get up in an hour and be ready. I hope you didn't forget were supposed to go to the beach today." She spoke as she turned the lights off of my room.
"Opo, mom. I didn't forget. What time is it na ba?" I asked her.
"Well, it's 5:30am. Ginising lang talaga kita nang maaga because i knew mas mahirap na if hindi ko gagawin to."
I didn't say anything else because I drifted off to sleep not long after. What only felt like a few minutes, my phone went off with an alarm.
I snoozed the alarm only to reveal that it's 6:45am. Knowing that my family's waiting for me, hindi na ako nag sayang ng oras to get up and prepare.
I packed some clothes, took a tablet of painkiller, had two glasses of orange juice, and freshened up.
Pag dating ko sa sala, dad was singing in the kitchen which made me automatically go up to him. "Good morning, dad." I greeted him with a hug.
"Hi, Joey. Everyone's in the car na. Have a banana muna so you don't get hungry sa biyahe." He handed me a banana.
"Puwedeng mag drive thru nalang po tayo sa Jollibee?" I asked him.
He nodded and took a sip of his coffee. "How was last night? Tawagan mo na yon si Adie para hindi nag aalala sayo. Mag sorry ka na rin." He said.
"Last night was fun naman po, dad. I don't remember much from when i started to get very tipsy but I'm sure it all went well since it always does." I answered him. "What happened po with Adie? Did I do something po ba while I was drunk?" I asked.
Dad laughed. "Yes, she brought you home and you were passed out. Luckily I was still awake so napag buksan ko siya ng pinto and ako na nag buhat sayo sa room mo." We started walking out of the house to go in the car. My dad was locking the door when he added, "Tapos nung nagising ka naman tapos makita mo siya pinag papalo mo siya sa dibdib and braso. Kawawang bata."
"Totoo, dad? I did that? Why?" I blushed.
"Sabi niya, ganon ka na raw halos buong gabi and car ride niyo. Kapag nagigising ka raw pinagpapapalo mo siya." He shrugged.
My dad got in the driver's seat while i sat at the back seat. My mom is in the passenger's seat while my kuya is in another car, driving it himself to the beach resort we are going to.
As we started to drive off, i took my phone out and messaged Adie.
Hey, are you awake?

Did you even drink last night?
Thank you for dropping me home, I hope you got home safe too.

Dad told me that I kept hitting and slapping you, I'm sorry. It must be a new drunk mannerism of mine, I'm never like that, I promise.

You're asleep pa? I thought you wake up early palagi? :( I'm lonely na.
You're not ignoring me, are you?
Are you mad? Did i do something wrong at the bar or our drive home? I don't remember anything, please tell me :(

I'm suddenly worried why she's not replying. She always replies within a minute, and based from the previous days, she wakes up around 6 or 5 in the morning.
I tried to call her but she didn't pick up. I decided to let it be and stop pestering her.
The drive took 3 hours for my family and I to arrive to the beach resort somewhere in Legazpi City. We checked in to our rooms where my mom and dad have their own, and my kuya and i have our own.
We decided to settle down and do our own thing and just meet at the lounge at 12nn so we can have lunch together.
I got into my room and left my bags just beside the bed and I instinctively went out to the balcony. The air was fresh, it was not too humid, the sun was hidden behind the clouds but gave just the right amount of light. The weather is perfect.
I glanced down to beach where families were having some fun. Children are running, some couples are walking along the shore, and some parents just sitting down near the shore to watch their children in the sea.
My family and I always spend three nights in this beach resort to celebrate New Year, which is in two days.
I sat on a chair in the corner of the balcony and wondered why Adie still has not replied to me.
I opened my phone and saw that some of my friends were actually in a call, so I joined them.
"Hey, guys. Bakit gising na kayo, it's only 10:30am ha." I asked them.
"Ay wala talaga akong choice kundi gumising, beh. Si mama kasi pinapasama ako sa mamalengke, nakakaloka." Avery answered.
"Nagising lang rin naman ako kasi tumawag si Avery. Nakakabwiset nga." Deon said. "Kami lang naman nasa call". He added.
I hummed. "What happened pala kagabi? Nakauwe naman lahat?" I asked.
"Oh my god, girl. Hindi mo na talaga alam no? Siraulo ka talaga kahit kelan. After niyo umalis ni Adie kagabi, bumalik siya tapos hinatid niya tong si Avery and Hannah pauwe." Deon answered.
"Bakit si Adie?" I asked. "Eh nagg-grab lang naman talaga yang dalawang yan." I asked, curious why Adie would go through all the trouble.
"Yun nga sinasabi namin sakaniya kagabi pero sabi niya eh.. sabi mo raw na ihatid niya kami pauwe tapos ayaw niya na magpatalo." Avery answered.
No way i did that. "Oh my god, nakakahiya." I slumped and face palmed myself.
