I wake up with a deep, gut feeling wrenching inside of me. A feeling of something horrible to come. Of course, the hallucination from yesterday did nothing to relax me. I had spent all night overanalyzing it. Trying to figure out why I feared that the most. There was only one thing that stuck out to me though.

Why did Ethan act like I was in love with Donna? Like I was dating her?

It was most likely just some random detail but I couldn't shake it out of my head. But what did shake me was the knocking at my door.

I'm not even dressed, who's knocking?

I wrap a robe around me. And open the door to Donna who looks at me almost hungrily. My stomach twists in excitement and nervousness. Before I speak Donna grabs me and kisses me harshly. I instantly kiss back and hold her face as it deepens. Her tongue enters my mouth and I moan in response. We stumble to her room where she lays me on her bed. Carefully adjusting the robe so she can see all of me. She caresses my skin as she kisses my neck lightly. I whimper in anticipation.

More loud knocking wakes me up again in confusion.

That was a dream?

I sigh in disappointment, "I'll be out, let me get dressed first!"

How desperate do you have to be to have that kind of dream about the person you work for? Someone who's basically holding you captive?

"I guess I do like her to a degree..." I mumble to myself as I walk out into the hallway.

I step into the living room and freeze in shock. On the table was a variety of food with one thing in common. Breakfast.

"I want to apologize again about yesterday, you shouldn't have had to go through that," Donna speaks as she gets up.

I clear my throat, "It's fine, I get why and I appreciate what you've done for me. Thank you, Donna."

Her face lights up at the usage of her name, Angie rolls her eyes and grumbles as she floats down to a chair. We all sit down and begin eating. It was surprisingly delicious. It made sense though, as it seemed she had to take care of feeding herself for most of the time she'd been at the village. But that's assuming she didn't have any maids before me.

Does that mean she's had other...situations with women before me?

It was a stupid thing to get jealous over, considering I've had things of my own. But still.

"Have you been in a relationship before?" I ask suddenly.

Donna chokes on her tea, "E...Excuse me...?"

"Wow! Way to be bold maid." Angie cackled loudly.

"I...I don't have much experience in relationships. Although I've had crushes before." Donna answered hesitantly.

"Any man would be lucky to have you crushing on him." I joke slightly.

"Oh, I....don't really...well I'm not very interested in men." Donna sheepishly admits.

Angie's head snaps to look at Donna with shock. I smile softly, fighting hard to fight the shit-eating grin I got from that information.

"Really? I didn't know you swung that way." I act surprised as I eat a piece of toast.

"Oh, it's not something very important about me. It's not a topic I'll bring up or mention to anyone without being asked." She waved her hand dismissively.

"It's important if someone is interested in you, right?"

Angie's jaw drops lower in shock. Donna freezes and looks at me. It feels as though the whole room has frozen. I continue eating as if nothing happened.

Don't act nervous. Don't act nervous. Don't act nervous.

"I suppose it would be, yes." Donna finally responds, a slight shake in her voice.

She was visibly sweating, cheeks slightly flushed in embarrassment. It was a cute sight if you ignored Angie fuming in the corner of your eye.

We continued eating as usual, once we were done Donna helped me clean up. I tried a few more blunt questions but with each one Donna became more and more flustered. It was enjoyable but I didn't want to make her uncomfortable so I stopped. Donna eventually said her goodbyes and went into the surgical room, leaving me alone as before.

I spent most of my time cleaning while daydreaming of Donna. It became clear how I felt towards her.

I want Donna.

It was crazy of course. Considering the circumstances of me ending up here. But Donna was kind and sweet, despite when we first met. But I could never pursue her. Not when I need to leave. Not when Ethan thinks I'm missing.

I could always try to bring her with me. But I don't think she would leave this village for me. All these responsibilities she might have with being a lord. This village is also so far back in terms of technological advances. It's too many issues that could go with that. The biggest one is if she even likes me like that.

The elevator doors clank open and I look over to Donna dirtied up and looking slightly tired.

"Was work tough?" I lean against the doorway.

"When is it not? But it's worth it to keep us safe." She grins slightly and walks over to me.

I grin back and wipe off a bit of grease off her cheek. Except I don't pull away my hand. And Donna doesn't move it either. I look into her eye. My heart beats wildly as I glance down at her lips. Something in me screams, almost aches for me to kiss her. But I know I shouldn't. It'll hurt us both.

God damn it.

Donna blushes slightly, "Please..."

Almost instantly I understand what she means. I move to the mask carefully, waiting for her permission. She nods and I remove it. My eyes widen in slight surprise. It was a scar unlike any other I'd seen before, taking over her eye and most of her face. I trace it with my finger gently. Move down to her jaw and her lips.

"You're so full of beauty," I mumble.

Donna blushes more and looks at me desperately. I grin as I move in to kiss her gently.

She kisses back instantly and grabs my face. Her hands were soft with a coldness. I didn't care though. All I could focus on were her lips against mine.

The taste of them was satisfying. It felt oddly comforting. Suddenly I didn't care about escaping or the risks of being with Donna. We break away and I start laughing.

"What?" Donna asks. "Did I do something wrong?"

"No, you just have no idea how long I've wanted to do that." I wrap my arms around her neck and look up at her.

She holds my waist and smiles widely, "Maybe I feel the same."

Nothing could ruin this perfect moment. I felt the happiest I had in a while. It was as if I had never felt actual happiness and contentment until now.

Fuck escaping. I know Ethan would be so happy for me if he knew. I'll get to him at some point but for now, I'll enjoy Donna.
