Chapter 3: Kenan

Kenan watched Seda walk away, her figure blending into the city’s glow. He leaned against his car, the cool night air mingling with the lingering warmth from the restaurant. The dinner had been a disaster, but as he reflected on their conversation, he found himself surprisingly contemplative.

Seda had been as infuriating as ever, but there was something else beneath her prickly exterior. Her passion for her summer plans, her genuine interest in making a difference—it all hinted at a depth he hadn’t expected. Kenan was puzzled. Their ‘fake relationship’ was turning out to be more complicated than he’d planned.

He climbed into his car and started the engine. His phone buzzed with a message from Can.

*“How’d the dinner go? Any fireworks?”*

Kenan quickly typed back. *“It was a mess. She’s a lot more complicated than I thought. Not sure if this is going to be as simple as I hoped.”*

Can’s reply came almost immediately. *“Sounds like it’s getting interesting. Just roll with it. You never know what might come out of this.”*

Kenan shook his head with a smile. Can was always the optimist. He was right about one thing, though—it was definitely turning out to be more interesting.

As he was about to put his phone away, a new message from Arda appeared.

*“I heard from Can. Hope it wasn’t too much of a disaster. Anything surprising?”*

Kenan considered Arda’s message for a moment. *“Surprisingly, yes. Seda has some real passion behind her facade. This isn’t just a simple act anymore.”*

Arda replied with a hint of curiosity. *“Interesting. Sounds like you’re in for a ride. Just keep your head in the game.”*

Kenan chuckled, feeling a sense of camaraderie with his friends’ encouragement. Tonight had definitely been chaotic, but it had also shown him a side of Seda that was hard to ignore.

He drove home, his thoughts churning with the evening’s events. As he pulled into his driveway, he resolved to stick to the plan while keeping an open mind about what might unfold. This summer was shaping up to be anything but ordinary.

He glanced at his phone one last time before heading to bed. *“Goodnight, Kenan. Here’s to an unexpected summer.”*

Kenan smiled at the message, a sense of anticipation settling in. If nothing else, Seda was proving to be more than just a convenient cover story.
