Two days had passed since our fight at the restaurant, but the memory of it was still fresh in my mind. Seda’s hurt expression haunted me, making it impossible to focus on anything else. I had thrown myself into training, hoping the physical exertion would drown out the turmoil in my head, but it hadn’t worked.
Tomorrow was a big game for Juventus, and I needed to be at my best. Coach had been drilling that into us all week. But how could I concentrate on football when all I could think about was how to fix things with Seda?
I arrived at the training ground early, hoping to get some extra practice in before the team meeting. The pitch was empty, the morning sun just beginning to rise. I jogged a few laps, trying to clear my mind, but it was no use.
As I was about to start some shooting drills, I heard footsteps behind me. I turned and saw Seda standing at the edge of the field, looking hesitant. My heart skipped a beat. This was the first time I’d seen her since our fight, and the sight of her brought a rush of emotions—guilt, longing, frustration.
"Seda," I said, walking toward her. "What are you doing here?"
She took a deep breath, as if steeling herself. "We need to talk, Kenan. About the game tomorrow and...everything else."
I nodded, knowing this conversation was long overdue. "Yeah, we do. Let's sit."
We found a bench near the field and sat down. The silence between us was heavy, filled with unspoken words and unresolved feelings.
"I’m sorry about the other night," I began, looking her in the eyes. "I didn’t mean for things to get so out of hand."
Seda sighed, her gaze dropping to her hands. "I’m sorry too. I shouldn’t have pushed your buttons like that. It’s just...this whole fake relationship thing is getting complicated."
"I know," I admitted.
She looked up at me, her eyes searching mine.
I nodded, feeling a strange mix of relief and apprehension. "So what do we do now?"
She took a deep breath. "We need to figure out how to handle this, especially with the game tomorrow. We can't let our personal issues affect the team or your performance."
She was right. Tomorrow's game was crucial, and I couldn't afford to be distracted. "You're right. Let's focus on the game first. After that, we'll talk more. "
Seda nodded, a small smile tugging at her lips. "Agreed. But just so you know, I’m rooting for you. Always."
Her words warmed my heart, and I found myself smiling back. "Thanks, Seda. That means a lot."
We spent the next hour going over the details for the game, discussing strategies and how we could present a united front to the media. The conversation was professional, but there was an underlying current of understanding and connection that hadn't been there before.
As we wrapped up, I felt a sense of relief. We had a plan, and more importantly, we had a chance to mend our relationship. Tomorrow’s game was important, but so was what came after.
"See you tomorrow," Seda said as she stood up to leave.
"Yeah, see you," I replied, watching her walk away. For the first time in days, I felt a glimmer of hope. Maybe, just maybe, we could make this work.

The rest of the day passed in a blur of training sessions and meetings. I threw myself into every drill, every tactic discussion, trying to focus solely on the game. But every so often, my mind would drift back to Seda, to our conversation that morning, and to the fragile truce we had established.
That night, as I lay in bed, I couldn't shake the feeling that something significant had shifted between us. It wasn't love—not yet. But it was something more than just teammates or co-conspirators in this elaborate charade. It was the beginning of a friendship, a real one, built on more than just necessity.
And as I closed my eyes, I found myself looking forward to the game—not just for the thrill of the competition, but for the chance to prove to Seda that I could be someone she could count on, both on and off the field.
