Scar pov:

When I woke up, I was still so very tired. Grian wasn't with me when I woke up, making me feel confused. I looked around my room but didn't find him. I let out a yawn. I could hear people downstairs, their voices hushed as they tried to be quiet. I stumbled into the bathroom after checking it was clear and no one was in there. Splashing cold water on my face did little to wake me up, so I grabbed fresh clothes and took a shower, letting the hot water run over me in hopes it would help.

After getting out of the shower, I dried off and brushed out my long brown hair. The weariness clung to me, but I tried to hide how tired I still felt. I tied my hair up into a tight bun so it wouldn't get in the way. As I dressed, I chose a comfortable but practical outfit: a snug-fitting black hoodie that provided warmth and a sense of security, dark jeans that allowed for ease of movement, and my well-worn combat boots that gave me confidence with every step.

The house was quiet, save for the occasional creak of the floorboards and the soft murmur of voices from downstairs. The early morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a gentle glow in the room. I took a moment to look at my reflection in the mirror, my eyes still heavy with sleep but determined to face the day. The scent of coffee wafted up from the kitchen, mingling with the faint aroma of breakfast being prepared.

Feeling slightly more awake, I made my way downstairs, the wooden steps cool under my feet. The soft chatter grew clearer, and as I entered the kitchen, I made a beeline for the coffee maker and poured myself a cup of black coffee. The rich aroma filled the air, and I took a long sip, feeling the warmth spread through me. With my cup in hand, I looked over to the living room.

There were now two heroes and three villains in my home. Well... I guess it's three and three. Anyways, for the villains, it was Doc, Grian, and Xisuma's brother, Xavier. For the heroes, it was Xisuma, Cub, and myself.

The living room was a mix of cozy and chaotic, the morning light casting a soft glow over everyone. Xisuma was sitting on the couch, his expression focused as he discussed something quietly with Cub. Their relaxed postures contrasted with the intensity of their conversation. Doc was leaning against the doorway, watching everyone carefully, not with distrust but with an amused smile.

Grian was sitting, hugging his legs, his eyes hazy again as the layout of the stronghold in Japan was being projected. Xisuma was trying to figure out what we would all need for this mission. Xavier was there as well, looking for potential extraction points we could use. Grian blinked and looked around a bit; upon seeing me, he got up and ran over to hug me. I was careful not to spill coffee on him.

"Hi, Scar!" he said happily.

"Morning, Birdie," I smiled at him as he dragged me to the living room and sat me down next to him.

As I settled in, I took in the room's atmosphere. The projection of the stronghold's layout cast a faint, flickering light across the walls, mingling with the morning sun. Maps and documents were scattered on the coffee table, evidence of the strategic planning underway. The air was thick with a sense of anticipation and urgency, yet there was also an undercurrent of camaraderie that softened the edges of our task.

Xisuma glanced up from his discussion with Cub and gave me a nod of acknowledgment. "Scar, glad you're up. We could use your input on this," he said, gesturing to the projection.

I nodded, taking another sip of my coffee to shake off the remnants of sleep. "Sure thing, X. What do you need?"

Grian, still holding onto me, looked more alert now, his eyes clearer. "We're trying to figure out the best extraction points," he explained. "Xavier thinks there's a weak spot here," he pointed to a location on the map.
