FlashbackHan chuckled with delight as he took pleasure in beating someone. "Are you going to run your mouth again now, huh?" Han laughed. He stopped beating the person and ran his fingers through his hair.
The person's body was covered in blood. "Wow, Han, who would've thought you could cause so much damage," Seungmin scoffed.
"I know, this guy talked shit about me and look at him now," Han grabbed the knife that Seungmin was holding.
Han crouched down to the person's level, who was on the ground begging for their life.
"Now, are you going to keep spreading rumors about me?" Han asked as he traced the knife along the person's jawline.
"N-No! Of course not," the person answered in a muffled tone.
"Really?" Han then dragged the blade down the person's bare chest.
"Yes! Please, just let me go!"
Han put away the knife, as if feeling pity now. "Now, if you breathe a word of this to anyone," Han warned, "I will kill you." He then laughed maniacally.
Seungmin heard footsteps and turned his head to see if anyone was there.
"Mingyu?"
someone called out. "Mingyu...? Mingyu!"
"Damn, we need to get out of here," Seungmin said frustratedly.
"Shit," He furrowed his eyebrows, "Remember what I said," Han warned him.
Seungmin fled the scene without looking back. Han glanced at Mingyu one last time before turning his attention to the person calling out. He stood there frozen. Standing there was Leeknow.
Han then fled the scene.
Present Time
"I'm... not sure," Seungmin replied, clearly lying.
"I'm going to step outside for some fresh air, alright?" Han stated.
Both Seungmin and Chan nodded. Once Han left, Leeknow remained quiet. "Let me guess, you want to join him?" Chan asked Leeknow.
Leeknow nodded.
Chan let out a sigh. "Alright, go ahead," he said.
Leeknow smiled and made his way to the balcony where Han was.
"You treat him like he's your own child," Seungmin chuckled.
"Yeah, he's like family to me," Chan sighed and looked away. "To be honest, I treat him that way because, well, he never had the chance to experience love as a kid."
Seungmin released the pillow and moved closer to Chan. "What do you mean?"
"His parents were abusive, and he only had his aunt and cousin. His aunt reported his parents, and they were arrested, and she took him in. But this all happened recently. His aunt just found out about the abuse."
Seungmin frowned, expressing sympathy. "I'm sorry to hear that."
"Yeah, his cousin, Mingyu, means everything to him. Mingyu found out before his aunt did," Chan explained, then lay on his back on the bed.
Seungmin's heart sank upon hearing the name 'Mingyu'.
"That's really sad," Seungmin said as he laid down next to Chan.
"I know," Chan turned to his side to face Seungmin, sensing his nervousness. And he was right, Seungmin was nervous, not because a goddess was right beside him, but because Mingyu was the person they had beaten up in the alleyway. His mind wandered to Leeknow, wondering if he had found out about what happened to his cousin.
"Seungmin?" Chan raised an eyebrow and sat up, looking at him.
Seungmin snapped out of his daze. "Y-Yeah?" he stammered, gazing into Chan's beautiful brown eyes.
"You had me worried there," Chan sighed in relief and laid back down.
The sun was now setting, casting a beautiful view through the windows.
Seungmin turned to his side, facing Chan to see what he was doing. Chan was now lying on his belly, peacefully scrolling through his phone. Seungmin carefully observed his full, plump lips and his perfectly sculpted side profile. Seungmin found himself lost in Chan's appearance and didn't realize that he was leaning in closer. He gently kissed Chan's cheek.
....
Han rushed to the balcony, his hands pressed against the glass panel as he tried to calm the whirlwind of thoughts in his head. Suddenly, Leeknow appeared and wrapped his arms around Han's waist, causing him to gasp and turn around, meeting Leeknow's face.
"Why did you follow me?" Han asked, panic evident in his voice.
"Why did you beat up my cousin?" Leeknow responded coldly, stepping back and putting his hands in his pockets.
"That's nonsense! I didn't do anything like that!" Han exclaimed, feeling trapped as Leeknow's gaze bore into him.
"Oh yeah? Then why are you so nervous around me?" Leeknow questioned, causing Han to swallow nervously and avoid making eye contact.
"Look, I have no idea what you're talking about!" Han finally met Leeknow's gaze, trying to sound confident.
"Do you really not know?" Leeknow tilted his head, skepticism evident in his expression.
"Yes, really," Han replied, his tone becoming more serious as he remembered that Leeknow was an interrogator.
Leeknow narrowed his eyes suspiciously. "I've got my eye on you," he said, leaving Han feeling unsettled.
Han could feel his heart pounding in his chest as Leeknow's intense gaze locked onto him. The silence between them was incredibly awkward, making it difficult for Han to stand his ground. But then, to his surprise, Leeknow began to walk closer towards him, causing Han to gulp nervously.
Nerves overwhelmed him, and he stammered, "I-I think we should go back to S-Seungmin and Chan," clearly intimidated by Leeknow's presence.
"Sure," Leeknow smirked, adding to the tension in the air.
Relief washed over Han as he watched Leeknow turn around and take a few steps. Without hesitation, Han followed closely behind.
As they entered the room, they found Seungmin in Chan's arms, both focused on Chan's phone."Well, what happened between you guys when we were gone?" Leeknow asked, a mischievous smirk on his face.
