As Vivian's eyes fluttered open in the early morning light, she was momentarily disoriented by her unfamiliar surroundings. Then, the events of the previous day came rushing back, and her heart sank. Just as she was about to slip out of bed, she heard a familiar voice, dripping with a mix of affection and possessiveness.
"How was your night, sunshine? How did you sleep?" Ryan's voice was soft, yet it sent shivers down her spine. She turned to see him leaning towards her, his eyes filled with an intensity that made her heart race.
"Nice," she replied, her voice hesitant and unsure. She knew she had to play her part convincingly, but the weight of her mission loomed over her.
Ryan smirked, clearly enjoying her discomfort. "Not so fast, sunshine," he said, pulling her back towards him as she tried to get out of bed. His lips met hers in a passionate, intense kiss that left her breathless and blushing. "Now, I don't need breakfast. I already got my meal," he murmured with a satisfied grin.
Vivian managed a small smile before she quickly excused herself, running towards the bathroom. Once inside, she leaned against the door, her heart pounding. "Stay focused, Vivian," she whispered to herself. "What are you doing? Concentrate. You have to enter his study room and find proof by opening his secret room that you saw before."
After gathering her thoughts and steeling herself for the task ahead, she took a deep breath and exited the bathroom. She had to remain calm and composed, no matter how difficult it was to maintain the facade. Every moment she spent with Ryan was a reminder of her mission and the delicate balance she had to maintain between deception and survival.
Vivian dressed quickly, choosing an outfit that would allow her to move freely and blend in with her surroundings. As she made her way downstairs, she kept an eye out for any sign of Ryan. She needed to find an opportunity to slip into his study room without arousing suspicion.
Ryan was in the kitchen, engrossed in a phone call. She took advantage of the moment, silently moving towards his study. Her heart raced as she approached the door, hoping that she could get in and out without being noticed.
Inside the study, the room was filled with an array of books, papers, and documents. She made her way to the bookshelf, recalling the secret room she had discovered earlier. Her hands trembled slightly as she searched for the mechanism that would unlock the hidden door.
As the door swung open, revealing the secret room beyond, she took a deep breath and stepped inside. The room was just as she remembered—filled with weapons, documents, and surveillance equipment. She had to find something, anything, that would prove that Ryan is mafia and expose his true identity.
Vivian's eyes scanned the room, landing on a set of documents neatly stacked on a desk. She quickly rifled through them, her heart pounding as she uncovered more information about Ryan's activities. She had to be careful not to disturb anything that would alert him to her presence.
Just as she was about to leave, a noise outside the room made her freeze. She had to get out of there before Ryan discovered her. Quietly, she closed the secret door and hurried back to the main part of the study, trying to appear casual and composed.
Ryan's voice called out to her from the hallway. "Sunshine, are you in here?"
"Yes, just looking for a book," she replied, hoping her voice sounded steady. She grabbed a random book from the shelf and turned to face him with a smile.
Ryan's eyes narrowed slightly, but he didn't seem suspicious. "Alright. Breakfast is ready."
Vivian nodded, clutching the book to her chest as she followed him out of the study. She had the information she needed, but the danger was far from over. She had to be careful, strategic, and above all, she had to stay focused on her mission.
As Vivian reached the breakfast table, she greeted Ryan's parents with a polite smile. "Good morning, Uncle, Aunt."
They smiled warmly at her. "Child, you can call us Mom and Dad, okay? We are just like your parents."
Vivian forced a smile, nodding in acknowledgment. "Thank you... Mom, Dad."
They all sat down at the dining table, and the butlers served them breakfast. The meal started peacefully, the soft clinking of cutlery the only sound in the room. Ryan's parents began talking casually, expressing their affection and making her feel welcome.
"You know, Vanessa," Ryan's mother said, "we're so happy to have you as part of our family. Ryan has never been this happy, and it's all because of you."
Ryan's father nodded in agreement. "Yes, we're truly blessed to have you. You're like the daughter we never had."
Vivian smiled, but inside, her heart was breaking. Every word of affection felt like a knife twisting in her chest. She murmured under her breath, "Laugh, laugh as much as you want. You killed my parents, and I will show you what pain is. You are going to suffer as I did."
Ryan, sitting beside her, noticed the change in her demeanor. He reached out, gently squeezing her hand. "You okay, sunshine?"
Vivian looked up, forcing another smile. "Yes, just... feeling a bit overwhelmed. It's a lot to take in."
Ryan's eyes softened. "I understand. Take your time to adjust. We're here for you."
Vivian nodded, her mind racing with thoughts of revenge. She had to keep her emotions in check, to play her part convincingly while gathering the evidence she needed. Every moment with Ryan and his parents was a reminder of her mission and the need to stay focused.
The rest of the breakfast continued with light conversation and laughter, but Vivian's mind was elsewhere. She was determined to uncover the truth and bring justice to her parents. The warm smiles and loving words of Ryan's parents only fueled her resolve. They may have welcomed her with open arms, but she would never forget the pain they caused her.
As breakfast ended, Ryan's mother stood up, placing a hand on Vivian's shoulder. "We're so glad you're here, Vanessa. You're a part of this family now."
Vivian nodded, her smile not reaching her eyes. "Thank you... Mom."
Ryan's father added, "If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask. We're here for you."
"Of course," Vivian replied, her voice steady despite the turmoil inside. "Thank you."
As they all left the dining room, Ryan pulled Vivian aside. "I have a surprise for you today. I hope you'll like it."
Vivian's heart sank. Another test, another moment to maintain her facade. "What is it?" she asked, trying to sound enthusiastic.
"You'll see," Ryan said with a mischievous grin. "Just be ready by noon."
Vivian nodded, her mind already working on how to use the day to her advantage. She had to find a way to continue her investigation, to find more evidence that would prove that Ryan is mafia. Her mission was clear, and she wouldn't let anything distract her from it.
