The bakery-café Hwabun aka The Flowerpot, is a small, single-story building nestled in the middle of a forest of towering blocks in a densely populated residential area of Seoul. With its colourful exterior decorated with flowerpots and flowering vines, it's an oasis of sweet-scented colour in a sea of grey, an unexpected, taste-full fusion of traditional Korean and French styles, with a rustic, warm heart.

Carefully managed and birthed into existence by its owner, Kim Taehyung, Hwabun remains ever popular thanks to its inviting atmosphere and a wide range of tasty, home-made produce.

Jungkook, who lives on the third floor of the apartment block attached to the back of the bakery, is a regular customer who comes every day, mid-morning.

Today, just like every other day for weeks now, he takes a moment to buy a single loaf of bread and then spends twice as long talking to the man who baked it.

"Hi."

Taehyung beams at Jungkook, his dark eyes shining brightly and cheeks a glorious pink from the warmth of the bakery.

Jungkook tries not to stare but everything about the man invites his gaze. His fluffy, dark curls hang down to his soft eyes and contrast beautifully against the white of his shirt which is wrinkled underneath the navy blue apron. His skin is so warm, it's like honey and all things sweet.

The baker stands behind the counter with his sleeves rolled up, with heaps of buns, cakes, rolls and loaves of bread neatly lined in front of him, their compartments labelled with pretty, hand-written labels.

It has to be Taehyung's handwriting because he's like that, Jungkook knows him well enough to know that he cares about such things and always pays careful attention to detail. After all, there is no other bakery-café that has been as lovingly thought out as The Flowerpot.

With its checkered red and white table cloths covering the small tables and the wooden, creaky floorboards, the place is like a warm hug, full of nostalgia and childhood memories. It feels like the Christmases of Jungkook's youth and the magic lingers, even though it's the middle of August and the sun is already up and it's hot outside.

Jungkook's cheeks heat a little at the pretty smile that goes with the greeting.

"Hello... how are you?" He manages to squeeze out, finally, wondering if he'll ever dare to speak less formally with the gorgeous man.

He glances at the tips of his boots, just to stop staring, and to give himself a moment to breathe. Breathing is difficult around Kim Taehyung, especially when he smiles like that.

The cute nose scrunch and a lip bite are enough for Jungkook to have heart palpitations.

Taehyung may seem like he has it all under control but every time the sight of his mouth-wateringly gorgeous favourite-customer-and-neighbour approaches him, he gets all flustered, sweaty hands and all.

Considering he only sees Jungkook for a few minutes every day – unless they have a chance encounter on the corridors of their apartment building where they live opposite each other – it's ridiculous how obsessed he is. Taehyung absolutely has the hots for him, maybe even a bit more than that, if he cared to admit it to himself.

His voice is a little breathless when he answers:

"Oh, all good, darling, thanks for asking, busy baking buns..." He giggles a little and blinks, fluttering his eyelashes. This is getting serious.
