Jungkook disappears after the incident.

Taehyung hasn't seen him in three days, he hasn't turned up at the bakery for his usual mid-morning loaf of bread.

First, he wonders if something is wrong, if Jungkook might be ill, but then he sees him walking past the cafe – with his whole body intact – so clearly he wasn't abducted by aliens either.

It doesn't make any sense, Jungkook was being so affectionate, so caring, so incredibly... amazing that Taehyung had totally swooned, even more than he had already.

He can't help but to wonder what he did wrong.

His heart sinks deeper by the day and he just can't stop thinking about Jungkook.

Five days later and Taehyung is losing it.

He hasn't been able to do anything other than think about Jungkook. His work is suffering, he's barely eating, hardly sleeping. He needs an explanation, he feels like he deserves one, so he gathers all his courage and knocks on Jungkook's door.

When he does, the door doesn't open even though Jungkook is clearly home – Taehyung catches the reflection of his figure in the spy hole.

"C'mon..." He mutters under his breath in disbelief. Jungkook is not the kind of guy to not open the door. He's not rude, he's not shallow. He would never ghost someone, he'd rather explain than not, Taehyung is sure of it.

Yet the door remains shut, to his utter embarrassment.

To anyone else, that probably would have been enough to let it go, but for Taehyung... after a week, he realises that he simply can't do it, he's going insane.

He decides to approach Jungkook one last time, convincing himself that once he sees his face when he says the words, he can finally forget about it.

The way Jungkook looked at him and touched him and how concerned he was, Taehyung knows there has to be something more between them. There has to be some reason for all this weirdness.

He needs to know.

His plan is simple.

Pretend to be drunk, vulnerable and without keys and get Jungkook to let him in, just like before, corner him and get the truth out of him -even if it hurts. Easy.

He leaves it until the following Friday, until it's late.

By the time Taehyung's at the front door of the building, it must be close to midnight and all he's wearing is a pair of worn, ripped jeans and a t-shirt that can barely be called that, that's how little fabric it has on it. It's just too short, not quite a crop top but if he lifts his arms, his midriff shows and the neckline is so generous it slips off a shoulder, revealing an irresistible collarbone.

When Jungkook hears the buzzer, he nearly falls off the bed, it pulls him out of such deep sleep. Stubborn, angry, long, irritating buzzes.

"What the hell..." he gets up and throws a silk robe on top of his shorts, doesn't bother doing it up. His bare feet slap on the tiled floor when he walks to the entry system panel.

Immediately, his heart jumps to his throat when he sees Taehyung on the little screen, followed by the rest of his body coiling in tension when he sees the naked shoulder, the soft hair, the open lips approaching the camera.
