We've been hanging out for days. Days! I can't stand to be in a car alone with someone for more than an hour without my anxiety going through the roof. I have never let anyone in my bedroom, let alone sleep in my bed.
I'm gonna be honest, I don't sleep great when she's not there.
Which is so stupid because we aren't anything but I like her so bad.
And I'm done hiding it.
"You're coming over after the game." I wasn't asking her. It wasn't really an order though. I just knew she wouldn't argue with that because she likes being around me as much as I like being around her. "Charlotte is making extra mac n cheese because she knows you don't like lamb."
She grinned, "I'm excited."
I looked up at her, "Are you and Mo running for homecoming court?"
She snorted as if that was a stupid question, "No fucking way."
I smiled, "What if we ran. Me and You?" I looked back at the field, not wanting to see her reaction, "People would vote for us because I'm me and they absolutely adore you."
"But isn't homecoming court for couples?" She pushed my shoulder with her own.
I laughed, "You know nothing, Natalie Wilson."
She sighed in an overdramatic way, "Is this you asking me?"
I smiled wider and looked her in the eyes, "Now you're getting it. If I did ask you to homecoming would you say yes?" I raised my eyebrows.
"Is that a joke? Of course I would."
I smiled wider and stood up, realizing the band was finished, "Good to know." I handed her the jacket I had officially stolen from her, "I'll come right here after the game."
"Alright." She nodded and put the jacket next to her, not looking away from me, "I'll be here."
I realized I don't care who sees me in that thing. I'm done hiding it, remember? I glanced at the jacket, at my team, then back to the jacket. "It's cold."
She smiled and handed it right back, "That's why I brought that."
I hurried and put it on then squeezed her arm in gratitude, "You're a lifesaver." Then I ran down and around the bleachers to be back with my team.
We did a basic cheers because the clothes we were wearing were too restrictive and it was way too cold to take any layers off.
Mom, Dad, Angie, and Wolf were sitting at the front of the family section. Chip is technically on the football team but he's never actually played a game. They're kinda here for me.
Even if they were here for the game, our team was so bad we ended up forfeiting. Good thing we're known for hockey or else this would have been just plain sad.
"You look glowy." Olivia pushed my shoulder and nodded towards the particular brunette giggling with her friends on the bleachers.
I glared at her, "Whatever." I put my arm around her shoulder, "Thank you, Ollie."
She smiled, "Oh please! Half the team can see how bad you liked her from the getgo. Don't worry about it."
I looked around, "Do they know?"
"Who?" Olivia looked around as well, trying to figure out who I was talking about.
I shrugged and picked my own bag up, "Everyone?"
She shook her head, "Just people who know you."
I nodded, "I don't care anymore. I think."
Olivia smiled, "Wanna do something silly?"
