English is tied for first out of all of my classes. I'm not only an English girl but I also just like the fact that Natalie has it with me and we sit right by each other.
I get in here really early because Ms Harris' room is directly next door and I'm not the type to wander so I usually just sit and wait for her to get in here.
But Bradley sat by me before I got a chance to say it was taken, "So I-"
"You need to move seats, Brad." I crossed my arms over my chest and stared at the boy. He usually sits in the back so I'm unsure why he has decided to ruin my perfectly good day.
He furrowed his eyebrows, "I'm tryna ask you about Angie."
My face softened slightly when I realized he was just clueless. I opened my Macbook on the desk in front of me, "What about my darling and dear sister, Brad?" I looked at him, "You do know she's still in middle school?"
"Woah!" He put his hands up, "I have a major crush on this swim girl. Y'know Eva?"
I nodded and let a smile take over my lips, "Eva Richards?"
He nodded proudly, "Safe to say I did this super romantic thing and asked her out at her house."
"That sounds creepy?"
He shook his head and put his hands out, "No, no." He cleared his throat, "I asked her dad if I could ask her out and he said yeah so I made this sign and I got a bunch of new swim gear and it was cool." He nodded, his cheeks a little red.
"What did the poster say?" I was genuinely invested now.
He shrugged, "'You make my heart butterfly; Let's freestyle on the stage when we are King and Queen at hoco?'" He shrugged again, "Because she has a record in Butterfly and Freestyle is a stroke too but people Freestyle on stage?" He raised his eyebrows at me as if I didn't put that all together already.
"That was a good poster, Brad."
He nodded, "Thanks." He ran his hand through his shaggy hair and then looked at me, "Back to Angie. My cousin, Porter, has this huge fucking crush on her."
I nodded because I expect that a lot of boys have a crush on Angie. I trained her. "Okay?"
"He wants to ask her out but he was wondering about her, like, soccer schedule." He ran his hand over his face, "I sound like I'm asking for me. I'm not a creep."
I laughed at his comment and shook my head at him, "She doesn't have practice on Fridays and Sundays." I noticed Natalie sulk into the room and find a seat by Sydney, not even telling Brad this one was hers.
So I let it go assuming they wanted to work together or the hassle of it all was too much. I wasn't sure. It threw me off though.
It threw me off even more when I went with Dylan and Reign during study hall because Natalie hadn't responded since before 10 a.m. Then during lunch, she wasn't even in the lunch room.
What was even weirder: Natalie was late to physics. And that's not the most gut wrenching part. No, she sat my Yoda instead of the open seat by me. The seat in which everyone in that room knows not to sit in.
And she sat by Yoda.
By that point in the day, I was considering going home because of my period cramps. Which somehow seemed to get worse the more my attitude shifted.
I realized I was being hostile during Gov. when I practically growled at Margarett. I mean, she was trying to copy off the work I did while sitting around and moving her mouth talking over Mr. Whittaker and I didn't think she deserved my work.
