Not only did Evelina and Anthony get involved intimately that night, but so did Kate and James, when James stopped Kate's carriage. All of the sexual tension can to a halt as they finally did something for themselves.

They had stopped at the Chateau, when James and Kate barely made it to the drawing room. James smiled, turning on the rug. He would wake up next to Kate, but Kate was not there. He slowly woke up, confused as he sat up, looking around the empty drawing room.

Kate, however, rushed to the Danbury house. She shut her bedroom door as she was in her nightgown. She sat on the ottoman in front of her bed, thinking about James and the carriage ride. She moved to look in the mirror, feeling guilty and conflicted. She should not have done that. She should have stopped herself from going as far as she did.

Meanwhile, James rushed to find his mother's ring again. Edwina had gave it back to him. So he was searching around his study to find the ring box again. He was going to propose to Kate. He was a man of honor. Scandal or not.

The Bridgerton estate.

"Hmm..." Anthony hummed as he rolled onto his side as Evelina cuddled up to him.

"We should hurry upstairs before we are caught out here." Evelina sighed, covering herself with the blanket that was for the outside couches.

"Just a few more minutes." He smirked, kissing the top of her forehead. "We will have to face reality once we go inside." He sighed as she looked up to see his eyes still closed.

"Do you truly love me?" She asked as he opened his eyes to look at her, moving his hand to her cheek.

"You question me? After last night?" He asked with a chuckle. "I would marry you all over again if I must prove it to you." He smiled, rubbing his thumb over her cheek.

"Even when the entire ton knows I am mad?" She sighed, when he moved to kiss her lips in a sweet kiss.

"Then, they will think that I'm mad too, if that's what they want to say." He said, as he pulled away from the small kiss.

Evelina shook her head as Anthony smiled.

"I understand you are afraid... But I will there by your side. I promise you that." He smiled, moving to interlock their fingers together.

"I fear my mother's reaction, the most..." She sighed, looking down at their hands. "I just don't understand... I was trying to help dismiss the scandal between James and the Sharmas, and I ended up ruining my new family, and my own family..." She sighed, when Anthony sighed, kissing her forehead again.

"They will find something else to talk about in a few days time." He said, when she sighed, looking up at her.

"I don't think this is a tiny scandal, Anthony... If other nations, outside of London, find out of my father's condition, we could be on the breek of war. This is far worse than a bit of London gossip." Evelina sighed as her eyes started to tear up.

"Do not get yourself worked up... You know what might happen." He sighed, when she shook her head.

"That's exactly my fear." Evelina sighed, moving to sit up and find her dress from last night.

James found his mother's ring again, rushing to the Danbury house.

"I must speak with Miss Sharma." He said to the footman who opened the door, allowing him inside.

It began to storm outside, which was why James was soaked. He rode his horse, seeing as he could not wait for a carriage. He waited in the drawing room. He fiddled with the ring box, glancing at his pocket watch. He looked up, sighing as he saw two servants gossiping.

"I know it is early, but can you please tell her I'm here?" He asked, standing up as he put the ring box and pocket watch into his pockets.

"I am afraid that is not possible, my lord. She does not seem to be here." One of Lady Danbury's servants told James.

"One of the horses is gone, too." A maid said as she approached the two servants.

James sighed to himself. He knew exactly where Kate was. Or where she was going.
