The Danbury house.

"You must not do this, Didi... You must not leave me like this. We have to... Please." Edwina pleaded, standing by Kate's bedside.

She sighed, turning to walk to the side as she moved to sit down and read her book again.

"Edwina..."

She looked up quickly as she heard her name in a fant whisper. She tossed her book to the side, rushing over to Kate who was waking up. "Mama! Lady Danbury! Make haste!" Edwina called out, crying as she was so excited that Kate woke up again.

"Dearest?" Lady Mary asked as she ran into Kate's room.

"She is awake!" Edwina exclaimed, turning to look at her mother as she held Kate's hand.

"Oh!" Mary smiled, sitting on the side of the bed.

"Thank heavens." Lady Danbury smiled as she just returned from the palace. "Send for the doctor." She told one of her maids.

"Kate." Lady Mary smiled, moving to hold Kate's other hand. "Do you remember?" She asked her daughter.

"I remember riding in the park. And the fall..." She sighed, with widened eyes at the end. "Oh, Mama... Edwina... I am so sorry." She apologized with a deep sigh.

"You must rest, Didi... Do not strain yourself." Edwina smiled, holding her hand on the side of Kate's face.

Kate slowly turned to look at Lady Danbury. "Did Lord Hanover come to see me?" Kate asked her, in a soft tone.

"He..." Lady Danbury hesitated.

Edwina sighed, looking down, but she looked at her wedding ring and the betrothal ring Elijah gave her.

"He rescued you in the park. Gallantly, in fact. He brought you back here several days ago." Lady Danbury explained as Kate looked between all three of them.

"And since?" Kate asked, sounding a little hopeful.

No one answered as Kate watched them sigh.

"I see... You are right. I must rest." Kate said with a small smile as Edwina hugged her mother.

"I must tell you, Didi... I will be moving to the Chateau of Anouilh... with Lord Elijah." Edwina said as Kate gave her a small smile.

"In France?" Kate asked, looking a little surprised.

"I felt it was time... And with it being the end of the season." Edwina began to say.

"No... No, no. You're right... I'm happy for you, Bon." Kate smiled, softly, as Edwina nodded, just happy that Kate woke up.

The palace.

"Brimsley told me you would be out here."

Evelina turned to the sound of her husbands voice as he took off his top hat.

"You told me the second time I came to court you that this was your favorite spot as a girl." He smiled, turning the brim of his hat as Evelina stayed quiet, looking at her husband with a hand on her baby bump. "I wanted to talk..." He said with a small sigh, stepping closer to her. "I'm sorry--" He went to apologize.

"Sorry for what?" Evelina interrupted him.

"Whatever I did to send you to away to stay with your mother..." He sighed, when Evelina moved to pick up his hand.

"You did not send me away, Anthony... I did not want to hurt you any further... I needed time to think." She sighed as she looked down as she held his hand.

"I told you--"

"I need you to listen to me." She sighed, looking up at him as he sighed but nodded. "From what I remember... My father has been kept away. My entire childhood... He tried. He tried to do his hardest to stay better. But it was hard. I watched my father get sicker and sicker... And then, I begged my mother to send me to France. I wanted to marry. I knew it was my duty. I thought the doctors could help. But all it was was torture. Pain. And more pain. I thought I was going to die. Then, I came home. I was doing better. And then, I met my prince charming... And I nearly ruined it. Over and over again--"

"You did not ruin anything." Anthony stopped her, shaking his head.

"I did not want to put you through what I watched my mother go through. I do not want our child to experience what I went through..." She sighed, when he moved his hand away from hers to caress her cheek.

"And I have told you that that won't happen. And if something happens, we can overcome it." He said as she smiled, nodding a little.

"How can you be sure?" She asked with a sigh.

"I'm not... I just can't live without." He smiled, rubbing his thumb over her cheek.

"How is this going to work? What if... What if I do something to lose the baby?" Evelina asked as she began to cry.

"We will take it one day at a time..." He said, wiping the tear with his thumb.

"One day at a time?" She asked as he smiled, leaning forward to kiss her lips.

"One day at a time." He smiled.
