It's been a gran total of about 2 weeks since I moved from Nashville to Manchester. It's alright I guess, the weather is about the worst thing about it. I longed for the hot summer's in Nashville, the blistering hot heat and the cool drinks. Just thinking about it gave me an ache in my stomach. I was determined not to be homesick. Sighing I looked at my reflection in the mirror, ready for another day in England. I didn't really fit in here. I inspected my hair, I always got weird looks for it. It was multiple colours of orange, midlenth and really choppy.(Hayley Williams in the Misery Business music video basically) I pulled my Muse shirt on over my head, with a pair of split skinnies and by that I meant one leg was black and one leg was white. Me and my best friend Jen had covered the white leg in the words RIOT! (again you really have to be a Paramore fan to get that one, sorreh) I felt my chest twist at the thought of her. I missed her like fuck.

I should probably explain my situation right now? Well my name's Ronnie, I'm 19, and well I've lived in Nashville my whole life, until I told my parents I wanted to see the world. So I moved out to Manchester, it was nice really. I worked in a coffee shop a couple of blocks away from my apartment. The only problem I had was I was lonely. Extremely lonely. I had built up a life in Nashville and moving was a good decision it's just I had to leave my entire family and friends behind.

I grabbed my bag an headed out the door, ready for a new day of work. I really enjoyed working there, the other waitress there, Courtney, was nice but we weren't really friends. Her dad owned the shop and I worked there most days. Courtney had gone to university so I had taken over most of her shifts. It didn't really bother me, it meant more money and I liked working there really. I hit the button for the elevator and waited patiently for it to come. A couple of guys came while I was waiting. I looked at them through the wall of red hair. They were good looking, both of them had matching kind of hair cuts and skinny jeans. Eventually the elevator came and  got a better look at their faces.

wow.

One had black hair and a pale complexion with blue eyes. The other, who I liked the look of a bit more, was tanned with brown hair and chocolate eyes. He saw me looking and smiled, I blushed a bit and looked away, smiling at the ground.

''I like your shirt'' one of them said in a think English accent, I looked up and they were both looking at me which meant I really didn't know which one had spoken.

''Thank you'' I said quietly, looking down at my shirt.

''So are you new to the building'' one of them said and I looked up again. Shit. Still not sure which one had spoken.

''Yeah, I've been here two weeks'' I said shyly

''Cool'' the one with the black hair said, I realised he'd been the first to speak.

''I'm Phil by the way and this is Dan'' he added, I smiled. Dan, I liked it.

''Ronnie'' I said with a smile.

''Pretty name'' Dan said and I blushed a bit and smiled.

''Thanks'' I said, pushing my hair behind my ear.  The elevator slid to the bottom floor and we all got out.

''Nice to meet you'' the black haired one, Phil, said.

''You too'' I said with a slightly more confident smile before heading towards thecoffee shop.

I hit my hand into the side of the coffee machine, rusty piece of shit. It started up again and I let out a thankful sigh. Brown liquid  sludged into the mug, I really don't know why I took this job, I hate coffee.
