"Grandma, how many times do I have to tell you to stay in bed!?" Y/n yelled. "Dearie, you know I don't like to stay inside like that." Y/n's grandma said politely. "Yes, grandma, but you shouldn't work yourself too much." Y/n replied worriedly. Right after Y/n's freshman year, her grandma fell ill. Her grandpa needed extra support to take care of both himself and his wife, so Y/n offered to move in with them. After living on their last couple of checks, money became a nuisance...
One day during the summer...
Y/n neared Cafe Mami, slightly irritated with the large group of people surrounding the entrance . 'Ugh, there better be a good reason for this large group of unhygienic men,' Y/n thought. After shoving her way through the crowd and entering the cafe, she saw a familiar face. It was a certain blue haired girl. Teruhashi stood in line with an impatient look on her face, occasionally peaking around the corners to spot a cashier.
'Why do I have to wait in line for so long? Does my adorableness mean nothing!?' Teruhashi thought. Y/n always despised being near Teruhashi, having to hear her great attitude and desire for attention in her thoughts.
"Ah! Y/n hurry, quit keeping my customers waiting!" The manager yelled. Y/n stared at the brown haired man for a few seconds before questioning him. "Sir, I haven't even been interviewed yet," Y/n remarked. "Nonsense. Now go take those orders you're taking too long!"Y/n was pushed towards the cash register by the manager, and she quickly fell into character.
"Hi, what can I get for you!" Y/n asked with a fake happy demeanor. "Oh just one mocha boba tea." Teruhashi replied innocently. Y/n took her order and shortly after, a bubbly girl came running out with a drink in hand. "One mocha boba tea!" The girl said with glee. Y/n took a few more orders before the girl approached her. "Hi Y/n!" She greeted. "Oh, hello-"
Y/n said before she was cut off. "Mera, my name's Mera!"
"Well nice to meet you, Mera." She finished. Y/n and Mera cooperatively served customers until a strange pink haired boy walked in.'Good grief. Why is Teruhashi everywhere?' The pink haired boy thought. He walked up to the cash register and stared at the h/c haired girl for a few moments. "Sir... can I take your order?" Y/n interrupted. 'Coffee jelly.' He replied. "Just coffee jelly?" Y/n questioned. He nodded and walked towards a table. 'Why can't I read their mind?' Both Y/n and the pink haired boy thought. "Saiki's strange isn't he?" Mera asked. "Yeah... he certainly is" Y/n trailed off.
Teruhashi then walked up to Saiki's table and put on her cutest face possible. "Say saiki, would you mind if I sat here? See I'm just so lonely-" Teruhashi was then cut off by Saiki.
'I'm sick.' He quickly interjected. Teruhashi gave him a look of unbelief, and Saiki lightly coughed. Teruhashi then backed up and swiftly walked to her table with an angry expression.
'Saiki mark my words: you will fall for me! How could you not!?' Y/n let out a giggle in Teruhashi's direction and Saiki quickly looked Y/n's way. She hid her face and looked occupied until Saiki left.Okok guys this was a pretty short chapter and I'll obviously develop the dynamics between the characters more as the story progresses, but pls give me feedback it helps sm <3 Bye!
