(T.W. Mentions of abuse.)At the clothing store...
"Ah, don't look so nervous Chiyo, I'm sure we'll find a great bathing suit here.. and to be honest I need one too." Chiyo and I looked around the store for what seemed like hours until we laid eyes upon a beautiful pink bathing suit for Chiyo. "This looks perfect for you, Chiyo!" I exclaimed. Chiyo pondered on the bathing suit for several seconds before grabbing it. "One bathing suit down, one more to go," I said defeatedly, wanting to go lay down. We strolled around once more for a few minutes. We'd found an aisle we never went down and there the shelves held a f/c halter bikini. The bottoms of the bikini were tied at the sides, and the color complimented my skin perfectly. "I don't know, I think this is the one Chiyo," I said happily. Chiyo and I walked to the register. The boy at the register was around the same age as us, and was extremely handsome. "Looks like you guys are going swimming?" The boy said humorously. "Yup, school trip," Chiyo said awkwardly. "Uhm, I'm gonna go to the cafe next to us, meet me when you're done." She finished. "Yeah, okay," I assured her. The boy paused on ringing me up and looked at me for a second. "Hey uh.. can I get your number, perhaps?" He stammered nervously. I smiled sweetly at his awkwardness and agreed.
"Don't forget to call me!" I said walking out of the store. Momentarily, I arrived at the cafe. "So... what happened Y/n? You gotta tell me everything!" Chiyo said excitedly. "All he did was ask for my number it was nothing too crazy." I defended. "Mhm okay.. I guess this bursts my idea of you and Saiki?" She asked. I stared at her for several seconds and ignored her question. That boy showed no interest in me.. let alone anyone, why was there any idea of Saiki and I in the first place? "Are you almost done Chiyo? My bed is calling my name." I said, exhaustively. Chiyo had ordered two slices of cake, and boba tea. "Okay, okay I'm done, let's go." She replied.
On the way home...
The night got darker, and the air surrounding us became colder. The spring leaves blew off of the trees and created a peaceful ruffle in our ears. "It's so beautiful at night" Chiyo said cheerfully, staring at the night sky where the stars radiated luminosity. Chiyo was so focused on the sky that she missed the foot steps coming behind us. I spun around and jump kicked the dark figure approaching us at high speeds. Being a teenage girl, my strength was weak, but using my telekinesis I moved immense power to my foot. "Oof!" The man shouted. Chiyo obliviously turned around, unaware of what just happened. "Y/n-" The man paused to cough. "Why would you do that?" He cried. "Kaidou?" I asked, recognizing the boy's voice. "Why are you stalking in the dark?" I asked in utter shock. "I spotted the both of you from my window, and I didn't want you walking alone at night." Kaidou admitted. "Kaidou.. you can't creep up on us like that, I could've seriously hurt you," I said worriedly. "Yeah I know that now!" Kaidou said standing up from the concrete. I walked up to Kaidou to give him a hug, hoping he'd forgive that kick with more strength than a man's. "Thank you Kaidou," I said hoping he'd forgive my apology. "Yeah, yeah whatever I'm going home." Kaidou said turning around. Reading Chiyo's mind, I could tell she gained feelings for him right there. "That was so sweet though," Chiyo said in adoration. I sighed and said, "Chiyo, you really should watch your surroundings more often."
Back at Y/n's grandparents home...
"Y/n! I've missed that attitude of yours". My grandma said pinching my cheeks. "Alright that's enough now," I said backing away. "I made your favorite cookies if you want any!" She said as she walked back into her room with the loud tv on channel 9. I walked to the kitchen, excited to eat those f/c cookies. As I grabbed the cookie, I felt a buzzing in my pocket. "Hello?" I said with a mouth full of cookie to the unsaved number. "Hey, this is the girl from the store right? The one buying bathing suits?" The boy said still a little nervous. I smiled remembering who I'd given my number to. "Ohh! Hi stranger," I jokingly replied. We discussed everyday things and pet peeves, until we landed on the topic of an upcoming field trip. "Yeah my friend and I bought those bathing suits for this field trip we have coming up" I told him. "Wait.. is it at the Okinawa?" He asked. "Wait yeah, are we going on the same field trip? Tomorrow?" I asked excitedly. "Haha, yeah it is tomorrow" He said, surprised. "It's a small world we live in," I said humorously. We spent the next thirty minutes of the night on the phone talking about how annoying people are at our schools. It'd been a while since I'd had such an enticing conversation. We ended the call and I drifted asleep
Dreaming...
"Y/n, you are going out on that stage and that's final!" My mother said sternly. "Don't make me mom, please I'll do anything!" I shouted. "Oh please, there's no need for you to be so dramatic," she told me. Suddenly my father wiped my tears and dragged me to the stage. Everyone cheered, excited to see their favorite child "magician". "Next up, we have... Mystery!" The man on the mic said. I slowly walked up to the stage, another boy around my age sat on a stool. My talents consisted of reading minds to preform guessing tricks, and using my telekinesis to move random things. I handed the boy a stack of cards, and told him to pick one. He showed the audience the card he picked, it was a queen of hearts. The audience sat on the edge of their seats. Suddenly a drummer played a dramatic beat, and I held up my hand to stop the drummer. "The card he held up... was a queen of hearts." I said. The audience cheered. "The boy's card was guessed, Mystery, pick his punishment!" The man on the mic said. I pointed my index finger at the boy, and pointed it to the ceiling. The boy then flew up 10 feet in the air, flailing in fear. Two men in jester suits then brought out a trampoline, and put it right under the boy. I dropped my finger and let the boy drop to the trampoline, guiding him down a bit to avoid injury. "That's all for Mystery, see you next time" the man on the mic said. The boy was rolled out on the trampoline and I walked off the stage. I avoided my parents and found a room to breathe, away from a laughing or cheering audience, and away from money hungry parents. I broke down in tears, my knees to my chest.
I abruptly woke up, gasping for air, looking around my room for a sign that I was no where near my parents. I wiped the cold sweat off my face, and sighed, plopping back on the bed and looking up at the ceiling. "Another nightmare again?" My grandpa said walking to my bed to sit down. "Don't you worry your little head N/n, that's in the past. You are more than just your abilities," He said while stroking the hair on my head. "I'm okay grandpa. Now I have to get ready for this field trip," I said motioning with my hands for him to go. "Okay dearie, let me know if you need anything." He said getting up to leave.
I walked to the bathroom and washed my face with cold water, want to start anew with positive thoughts. I hated how the past haunted my memories and that there was nothing for me to do about it. But anyway, today was the day of the field trip! I packed all the necessities in my bag, like snacks, my bathing suit, hygiene supplies and what not. I'd left the house earlier than everyone else, so I enjoyed the peaceful sound of nature.. until it was interrupted. Walking behind me was Saiki, Nendou, Kaidou, Aren, and Chiyo. "Oi, Y/n, don't run away from me!" Kaidou said. Knowing I'd just have to see him at the airport, I stopped walking defeatedly. "Can I help you?" I asked hoping he hadn't told any one I nearly paralyzed him with a kick last night. "Don't act oblivious Y/n! You gave me whiplash with that kick!" Kaidou said, still upset. "Kaidou, you were wearing all black, the sun had set, and you were running towards us! I had reason to defend myself!" I said explaining myself. "What? did you summon your inner man with that kick!? That was crazy!" Kaidou said. Saiki glanced at me knowing I'd used my powers. "You know what Kaidou, I'm done talking about this. If you need something to blame it on, blame it on your incompetence!" I told him. Even though I said I was done talking about it, Kaidou and I argued back and forth before we eventually reached the airport.
The Airport...
'You and Kaidou argue like siblings,' Saiki said to Kaidou and I. "I know, there was a time where I considered going back home!" Aren said. "Alright, alright we aren't that bad, let's just focus on this field trip!" I defended. "If I can stop focusing on the pain in my neck first.." Kaidou mumbled. "What was that!?" I asked. Shortly after, Kaidou and I argued back and forth once again, before Saiki used his strange powers on me. I could no longer open my mouth. "That's what I thought," Said Kaidou. He thought I gave up on defending myself, but I just couldn't move my lips. 'Saiki! Stop this, you're making me lose the argument!' I told him telepathically. 'That's the point.' He replied. He didn't stop until a voice resonated throughout the airport. "Due to a hurricane, the ten o'clock flight to Okinawa has been delayed." Suddenly everyone's spirits dropped. Chiyo grabbed the snacks from by bag and stuffed her mouth in despair. While I comforted Chiyo, Saiki seemed to have disappeared. "Hey, the plane can take off after all! The hurricane disappeared!" Said a classmate. Everyone cheered and their loud voices rang through my ears. "Saiki.. why are you wet?" Asked Kaidou. I looked at Saiki and let out a giggle. Using the clues around me I could tell he did something about the hurricane. Saiki glared at me and then dried himself off using his powers. "Okinawa here we come!" Said Nendou ecstatically.
