Shattered Ice

Chapter 3

Gray POV:

I woke up with a beautiful sleeping Lucy cuddled up to me, her head was on my chest and I was definitely not letting her go any time soon. She started to wake up and smiled a little while still half asleep "I love you Lucy..." I whisper and she looks up at me "I love you too Gray" I couldn't help but smile at her words and I felt her lips press against mine. I've been waiting for this for so long and now she's mine, I'll never want this mission to end but at some point in time it has too. I watched her get up and she jumps in the shower and I wait on the bed patiently for my turn. While I waited I started to think about how Natsu or Juvia would take the news, we could always keep our relationship a secret I mean why do they have to be in our damn business anyway? I was torn from my thoughts when Lucy came out the bathroom in nothing but a towel, I could already feel the nosebleed coming like a raging river. I hurried into the bathroom to take my shower before I saw something that she didn't want me to see, I just don't wanna be Lucy kicked into next week. I came out the bathroom about 15 minutes later with a towel wrapped around my waist and I saw Lucy blush and bite her lip while staring, I wonder if she always did that towards me? I got dressed already forgetting that she's watching me and when I get dressed I turn around to a tomato face Lucy. "Did you see something Luce?" I chuckle at my own joke and she looks at the floor still obviously embarrassed about she's seen. I walk over and pick her head up before placing my lips on hers "We have to go soon if we wanna get this mission over with" I say after parting my lips from hers. She smiles and grabs her keys "Lets go!" she pulls me out the door to our inn and drags me right into the forest. We get to this weird clearing and we start to hear noises, I can tell that Lucy was getting scared and I pull her close to me in a protective way. I look all around and see no one and nothing and then suddenly all these monsters start to come up from out of the ground. She summoned Leo and used her whip to help me fight and I used anything I could think of that might take out a lot of them at once. The issue really was that these monsters are a lot stronger than the paper suggests and I was starting to worry if I'd be able to protect Lucy. We defeated a lot of the monsters and only 2 remained, they were S class monsters. Lucy looks at me with worry written all over her face and brings out Taurus to help us, I'm so glad that my girlfriend is that strong. I smile to myself and start throwing ice lances at the monsters and it barely left a mark. I was slapped across the way and smashed into a tree. Lucy made good work at killing one of the monsters but was having trouble with  the second since her magic power was draining. I monster took his fist and smashed Lucy and I felt sure that my hear dropped. I blacked out and when I woke back out of my involuntary sleep, the other monster was dead with an Ice spear through his heart. I ran over to Luce and she was still breathing but a lot of her bones her broken and her pulse was super slow. I called out to Leo hoping he'd come out of the spirit world under his own magic to help me out, which he did "Please go back to the guild and get help! she won't make the trip if I try to take her" He nods and in a flash, he disappears.
