Jordyn's POV

5 minutes later

"Holy shit! You are good." He breaths out holding his knees. I won 11-1, I let him have the pity shot in the beginning.

I laugh. "I wasn't two time MVP in school for nothing." I say and I can see Michael with his arms crossed at the door.

"Dinners ready!" I hear Selenes mom call out and we gather ourselves and head inside. We make it back inside and into the dining room where the table is full of holiday foods and deserts. Mom gets down. "Y'all go freshen up now." She says and I take a glimpse at Selene who is eyeing me with a look I know too well. She wants to fuck us! That's not why we're here. Stay focused!

I leave the kitchen to go to the guest bathroom but before I can close the door a hand pulls the nob and I being pressed against a small body. "Why are you here?" She asks after she locks the door.

I smile at her panicking. "Zarina told me to come."

"This isn't funny Jordyn, my parents are different people that you don't want to be around."

I sigh. "I'm aware Selene. They don't seem too bad right now but I didn't come here for them. I came for you." I see her eyes soften at those last words. "I wouldn't be ok with myself knowing you were dealing with 'that'  alone." I say gesturing towards outside the door.

"Jordyn."

I interrupt her. "I didn't come here to take you back Selene." Disappointment fills her eyes. "But I'm willing to be here for you and see where it goes." Her eyes gleam with hope and she nods. "Now get out before they get suspicious." I say and she kisses my cheek and walks out.

I take a deep breath and look myself on the mirror and wipe my face from the little sweat I had from the game. I walk out and meet everyone back in the dining room. "Wonderful let's eat." Her moms says and I go to sit on the other side of the table opposite of Selene. "No what are you doing Jordyn? You sit by Selene and Michael you sit in front of her." She says sitting at one end of the table as David sits at the other.

I see Michael's jaw clench and he squeezes Selenes hip as he moves around her and again she flinches. I sit next to her and she gives me a slight smile. I look across the table and see Michael glaring at me and I smirk. "This food looks delicious Mrs. Kaci." I say with a smile toward the woman.

"Sweetheart, call me Olivia. And thank you please dig in." She say and we do just that.

"So Jordyn, how long have you known our Sellie?" David asks and hear Selene groan.

"Dad come on really?" She ask.

"What? It's just questions I promise?" He puts his attention back on me. "I'm sure she's mentioned how we can be sometimes."

My jaw clenches at the reminder. "Yes she has. It's one reason I had my doubts on coming by but I figured if she loves you guys so much, you can't be all bad." I give a condescending smile.

He clears his throat and Selene pinched my thigh. "Of course. Well I apologize if we made you uncomfortable but I assure you I have no intention to continue to do so." He says and I hear Selene gasp and I look at her.

"Mom?" Olivia only nods knowingly not saying anything. Selene looks like she's contemplating something and then looks at me. I look at her confused and she smiles. "That's great. I'm glad." She says and goes back to eat.

"To answer your question David, I was actually once a student of Selenes."

"Really? I knew you looked young." Olivia says smiling.

"Yes and now she's a colleague at the same school. I'm the gym coach while she's the counselor there. And she's amazing at her job." I boast about my girl. Yes my girl.
