I got up, grabbing my hockey stick as I headed down the stairs.

We had hockey camp today and I was feeling kind of nervous. Usually I was always excited for these types of things, but this felt different as I am now a part of the team

I had no appetite, my stomach felt as if it was being attacked by something gnawing at it from the inside out. It left me feeling uncomfortable

I grabbed up all my gear, making sure that I had everything with me before heading out

This meant my helmet, hockey 'underwear', my jersey, my stick which I was holding, elbow and knee pads, and of course my gloves along with the padding for my stomach to the back

Last thing on the list, my mouth guard.

I headed out, Val picking me up. I was always so happy to see her, we became closer and recently started dating

I couldn't be happier than the day that she asked me out. We jammed to some tunes before pulling up to the large building

As we stepped out, I knew it was time. I was here, and of course there was not turning back now.

I don't know why I felt so nervous, Val reassured me. But I couldn't help the gnawing pain that was still eating me from inside out

I spotted our friends, Dani smiling and Alondra waving us over as we made eye contact with the rest of them, I held her hand for extra safety. For some reason it had always helped

This was it, the long weekend.
