"What the hell are you saying, Mr. Singh?!" Vineet shouted at Raj Singh (Prithvi's father), holding his collar.

"I-I'm sorry, Mr. Mahavar, I don't know where Prithvi is," Raj Singh said, feeling embarrassed.
He didn't have any idea why the hell Prithvi was not here.
He tried to call Prithvi's friends, but they also didn't have any clue about Prithvi's whereabouts.

So, he didn't have any other option but to confront Vineet.

On the other hand,
Vineet was furious when he found out that the man who was going to marry his daughter was not present—he had run away.

"Are you kidding me? Don't you dare lie!" Vineet tightened his hold on Mr. Singh's collar, almost suffocating him. Mrs. Singh pleaded with him to leave her husband, saying they were telling the truth; they actually didn't know where their son Prithvi was.

"Leave him, Vineet!" Saroj said with tears, witnessing all this commotion.

Vineet let go of Mr. Singh's collar with a yank, hearing Saroj.

"Leave from here before I do something!" Vineet said to the Singhs, controlling his anger.
The Singhs started leaving, feeling helpless and embarrassed.

"And remember, I will not spare your coward son if I find him," Vineet threatened Prithvi's parents before they went out.

He looked at his wife who was crying.

"I'm sorry, Saroj," he said as tears also gathered in his eyes. He felt so useless.

"What about our Ahira?" This question from Saroj hit Vineet like a punch in the gut.
He slid down on the floor clutching his head. It was his idea to get his daughter married to a man like Prithvi, and now he regretted it.

"I failed as a father, Saroj, I failed our Ahira," Vineet said, clutching his chest, feeling both guilty and angry. Saroj cried, seeing her husband.
She couldn't imagine the reaction of Ahira when she would get to know that her groom was not present here.

"What will we do now?" Saroj cried.

"Get my Shashank married to Ahira," when Saroj heard this, she looked up and saw Kavita and Adhiraj standing at the door.
Maybe they heard all this commotion.

"W-What are you saying, Kavita?" The Mahavars were bewildered to hear this.
Why would she even propose something like that?

"Let's get them married."

**Flashback**

When Kavita found out that Shashank refused to come to the wedding, she was beyond angry and hurried home. She was clueless as to why Shashank was behaving like this.
He never did these types of things before.

As she entered the room, the smell of cigarettes hit her nostrils, making her scrunch her nose.
'Who is smoking here?' she wondered because, as far as she knew, Shashank never smoked. She was confused because of the darkness in the room.

Her eyes widened when she saw Shashank sitting beside the bed on the floor, a cigarette hanging from his lips. She stood there, too stunned.

"SHASHANK, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?!!!" she shouted, registering his state.
She was mad, so mad. Why was he behaving like this? What was wrong with him?

She furiously went toward him when he didn't speak.
The smell of smoke assaulted her senses, mixing with the heaviness in the room, as she made her way toward Shashank.

"WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?!" She grabbed the cigarette from his mouth, yanking it away with a sharp, furious motion.

He looked up at her, his eyes red and weary, the sharpness of Kavita's action pulling him out of his daze.
But the pain in his chest remained, as raw and bitter as the nicotine on his tongue.

"It's burning, Maa," he said in his weary voice.
Kavita became worried, thinking maybe he had burned himself, her face a mix of fear and worry.

"W-What happened, son?" she asked.

"M-My heart is burning, Maa. It is burning with pain. It's aching too much," Shashank said, caressing his chest harshly.

For a moment, Kavita stood there. She hadn't seen him like this... so defeated, so... small.
She instantly hugged her son. She could see the raw pain in his eyes, the anguish that no words could express.

"She's getting married, Maa," he said, his voice barely above a whisper, thick with the weight of his heartbreak.
"To someone else." As he finished his words, Kavita understood the reason for his broken state.

**End of Flashback**

That was the moment Kavita knew that she had to do this for her son. She had to get them married.

"Don't you like my Shashank? Isn't my Shashank a good man, Saroj?" Kavita asked Saroj, holding her hands.
She wanted to convince Saroj. She couldn't see her son in this state. He looked so broken.

"No, no, Kavita, your Shashank is such a good man, and you know, right? If I ever had a son, I would want him to be like Shashank, but—"

"But what? Are you worrying about the age gap? Tell me one thing, Saroj. If Ahira were 4 years younger than Shashank, would you be worried about the age gap? So why is this even a problem if Shashank is younger?" Kavita was so determined to get them married.
She just couldn't see her son like this, and she knew that she was being selfish, but a mother's heart couldn't tolerate the broken state of her child.

Saroj gulped hearing all this. Indeed, she was worried about the age gap. She looked up at Vineet and saw him nodding.

"O-Okay, but is Shashank ready for this? You aren't pressuring him, right?" Saroj asked.

"No, he is more than happy," Kavita exclaimed quickly, but after seeing the confusion on Saroj's face, she bit her tongue. She couldn't just say that her son loved Ahira.
She nervously looked here and there until it was interrupted by Adhiraj.

"Mubarak ho, samdhi ban gaye, yara," Adhiraj said and engulfed Vineet in a hug.

(Congratulations on becoming in-laws)

Both Saroj and Kavita smiled seeing them, but Kavita's smile faltered hearing Vineet's next words.

"Let's ask Ahira also if she is okay with it." Adhiraj nodded in agreement.
It's her right to know; after all, she is the one who is going to marry.

Meanwhile, Kavita felt anxious. What if Ahira denied it? Her son would be devastated again. No-no, she couldn't let that happen.

"No, Bhaisab! I mean, there isn't time for this. W-We can explain it to her after the marriage," Kavita said nervously.

"What are you saying, Kavita? Ahira has to know this before the wedding," Adhiraj said, not understanding this sudden behavior of his wife.

"I will go and tell her now," Saroj said and went out to inform Ahira.

Kavita became tense and sighed.

She just hoped Ahira would agree to this.
