She crawled through the narrow tunnel, her heart racing with the hope of freedom.
Emerging into the main basement area, Layla saw an open door leading outside. Her hope soared, but as she approached the door, she heard voices coming from the front yard. Her best friend Bella, and a couple of officers, were calling out her name.
-“Layla!”
Bella’s voice was full of desperation and relief.
-“Layla, are you there?”
Layla burst through the door and ran towards the voices.
“Bella!”
she cried, tears streaming down her face.
Bella and the officers rushed to her.
-“We’ve been looking for you everywhere!”
(Bella said)pulling her into a tight hug.
Before Layla could explain what had happened, Daniel appeared at the top of the stairs, his eyes wild and dangerous. He held a knife, and the glint of it made Layla’s breath catch.
-“Stop right there!”
one of the officers ordered, but Daniel’s gaze was locked on Layla.
-“Get away from her!”
Daniel snarled, the knife pressed menacingly against Layla’s neck.
-“You all are so eager to play the hero. Let’s see how you handle this.”
The situation was tense, the air thick with danger. Bella, thinking quickly, assessed the scene.
“Daniel, let’s talk this out,”
she said, trying to buy time.
“There’s no need for violence.”
Daniel’s grip on the knife wavered slightly. Bella continued,
-“If you let Layla go now, we can work something out. No one needs to get hurt.”
As Daniel hesitated, Bella took a subtle step to the side, making a signal to the officers behind her. They had been waiting for a chance to intervene, and now was the moment.
The officers moved in swiftly, surrounding Daniel. The distraction was enough. One of the officers tackled Daniel, knocking the knife from his hand and restraining him. Daniel struggled, but it was too late, the officer locked his hand and forcefully took the knife in one go...Layla was safe.
Breathing heavily, Layla looked at Bella, her gratitude overwhelming.
“Thank you,”
(she whispered.)Bella hugged her again, her eyes brimming with tears of relief.
-“I’m just glad you’re okay.”
The officers took Daniel away, some of the officers gone upstairs but Max the main head was no where to be found as Layla's words Max was hitted badly by her so he can't get up but where was he , he isn't here they searched the whole house but Max were nowhere to be found nor his belongings...
-" I think Max had eloped...!"
-" what!! Officer! Isn't it your duty to look around each corner!"( Oliver said)
-" we did sir! But Max is no where to be found... We are glad that Daniel is with us I hope if we question him he might say.."
" Sir! He is very dangerous .. plz don't let him goo..." (She started to cry)
-" don't cry layla it's okay! Ur safe!
Bella hugged her taking her out of the area... Heading towards the police car...
The officers gone to check to the other car where Daniel was sitting with the two officers....while opening the door the one of the officer....
-" what!!! Oh my god!! Sir!!!"
The main officer rush to him as soo does the others including layla , Bella, Oliver.
The officers eyes widened .... The two of the officers were lying inside the car they were DEAD there were blood all over they were shot by gun not one time but several times....
Bella covered layla's face to not see it but Layla already watched her hands trembling ... She can't speak she was just murmuring...

Layla lost her senses . Suddenly a message pop up on Layla's phone...

-" what happened Bella! Speak up what is in the message!!"( Oliver said)
The officer picked up the phone it was written.....
" Maybe sooner or later you will be in my hands.... It is not the end maybe it's just the beginning....!!!"
