Calling the Fallen

{ Rin Kagamine }  

Something inside of me was doubting the plan. Maybe because of how crazy it was. Pretending to suicide, call in sick to spy on Len, move to Gumi's house, it was all so crazy. But a part of me wanted to see if he really cared. 

So far that side is my main focus. Me and Gumi walked to my house. All we I need to do is explain to my parents. They would understand right? They always wanted to help me with bullying. Unlike Len, they would check on how I was doing and give me advice.

"Wait...Rin...you want me and your father to pretend that you suicide?" Mom looked unsure about what her answer would be.

"Yes." I bluntly respond.

"And all of this is to see how much Len cares about you?" Even with those words slipping out of Mom's mouth, I can tell that she was starting to bubble. 

"Yes." 

"And all of this happened because Gumi-san wants to help you?" Mom's voice seemed to be raising in pitch for some reason.

"Yes."

"OMGASH! GUMI YOU ARE THE BEST THING THAT HAPPENED TO THIS FAMILY! Looks like your father was right Rin. And looks like Len did have a reason to be crying over you." Great looks like mom is gonna embarrass me again.

I turned over to Gumi, who was blushing at the complement. 

"Thank you, but really, it's nothing much." Gumi opposed.

"Well thank you anyway Gumi." Mom thanked.

I swear if Gumi hadn't said that mom would have said something embarrassing. I gave a small sigh of relief. 

I guess Len did have a reason for crying, didn't he...

Rin and I have been talking with her parents to kill off time. This was only going to last until Len showed that he either cared or not. I was about to go get some things from home until the front door opened.

"Mom! Dad! I'm home!" Len yelled from the front door.

Rin and I ran up the stairs and looked down, to only see Len with a gloomy expression. He hasn't seen us yet. 

"Hey. I need to tell you something." Len started.

"Is it about Rin and Gumi?" Mom interrupted.

"Yeah." Was all that made it out of Len's mouth.

"I just don't know why it had to be like this. It hurts, it hurts so badly." Len said between sobs.

"I know honey.." His mom tried to comfort him.

"I know I never really helped Rin, but there was no point cause whatever I was going to do, it was never going to work. I can't change how people think about her. It hurt so badly to see her like that. I wish I suicided with them, because that would mean giving them both an escape..." He cried out. 

I look over to Rin, who had small droplets of tears dripping down her face. I used the rail to support my weight. I pull myself up and offer a hand to Rin. We were about to show ourselves until Len said the words that made Rin burst.

"I wish they were never in my life....."

Note |  I know that chapter was really crappy. But it's something right? Well gotta enjoy the happiness before I end it...you will see what I mean. But Len is chipping away and Rin is breaking.
