Courtney Barlow is an ordinary girl living in Astereae, a huge village ruled by a young king, Duncan Taurum. Courtney has never had a pleasant childhood due to her parents, who hate her and have always preferred her brother John. So when the King announced to bring all the girls over 18 in the village to him so that he could choose the girl who would be his forever and the family in return would receive a pile of money, Courtney's parents did not waste a second in getting her ready and sending her to the castle hoping to never see her again but instead to see a lot of money.
The king has just announced that he is calling all the girls in the village back to his castle so that he can choose which one will be his forever, of course my mom has already started preparing me by choosing what dress I should wear and how I should do my hair, hoping that I will attract the king and she will never have to see me again.
While my mama thinks about what will attract the king the most I don't know what I think about this whole situation, I don't know if I would like to be the chosen one.

"This will do" my mom says handing me a beautiful maroon dress, I have to admit, the dress she chose is very nice and looks very flattering on me so I don't complain and wear it right away . After putting on the dress my mom arranges my hair in a nice elegant bun.

(Here's the dress) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "perfect" my mom says adjusting my dress for the last time "the carriage has arrived" and I start making my way to the big old maroon carriage. As the carriage starts to move I wave to my parents, they don't even pretend to care as as a matter of fact they have a wide smile on their faces meanwhile my brother isn't even here.
truly wonder if the king will like me and if maybe he will choose me, yes he is a disgusting and pervert man to do this, but living in a castle with butlers is much better than living at home with my parents.
When I arrive a butler greets me and makes me line up behind a thousand of pretty girls. Every time a girl comes out of the room ,where I assume the king is situated , she starts crying, who knows what happens in that room.
After an hour has passed, it's finally my turn a little hesitantly I enter the small room and in front of me I see a very handsome man sitting between two butlers. The man has beautiful teal eyes and is covered with tattoos and piercings, he is very hot and has beautiful black hair i wish I could play with... Courtney! What are you saying! No he's a pervert man!
"Hello, my highness" I say with a soft smile while scrunching my nose, to try and attract the king, "Hello, Ms Barlow" The king responds softly with a smirk on his face, what a disgusting way to greet me
And then he whispers to his butlers something I can't quite understand.
Did he choose me? But I didn't say anything? I know I have a nice smile and pretty freckles but ... His butlers turn to look at me and then proceed to leave the room and yell at all the other girls to go home. When they come back they escort me upstairs.
