You're not that bad

Duncan, Maddie and I arrive at a huge  frozen lake. The three of us put on ice skates. Maddie was visibly excited so I ask her, "Have you skated before?" She smiles and nods "I have, but brother hasn't so you'll have to help him a lot" I chuckle and look at Duncan and for the first time I see rosy pink forming on his cheeks. Maddie is the first to go to the lake and starts doing something similar to skating.

While Duncan has no idea where to start so I take his hands and make him put his feet on the ice " see it's not that hard?" He nods and his grip on my hands hardens. Slowly I make Duncan take small steps "he's making great progress" Maddie says and as soon as she finishes saying this Duncan falls into my arms which instinctively catch him "careful" and he smiles and I notice his cute dimples.
Maddie starts making vomiting sounds, and Duncan and I giggle. Duncan gets back up I take his hands back and we start moving across the ice followed by Maddie. After skating for a half hour all three of us take a break. We sit on the snowy lawn while we eat.

Duncan's Pov:

I had never been ice skating before, not that I missed much, but skating with Courtney was very enjoyable and relaxing even though my sister was being a bit of a third wheel but I love her anyway.

After skating for a while we sit in the snowy meadow and start eating. As I admire Courtney's beauty a snowball comes at me so I turn around and see Maddie giggling then I decide to throw a snowball at Courtney she chuckles and throws one back at me and so all three of us start a snowball fight. After the battle ends we lay down on the ground and Maddie says exhausted "that was so much fun" so both Courtney and I giggle.

Courtney's Pov:
After what Maddie says Duncan and I giggle, I've never seen him like that today for the first time he seemed much more relaxed and happy. I like this side of him.

After all three of us have cleaned ourselves up a bit from the snow, the carriage returns to pick us up, and all three of us cling to each other for warmth and return to the castle. When we arrive we immediately find Florence waiting there smiling, "so how did it go?" Never had she ever asked that question because then Maddie started explaining in super detail everything we had done while Duncan and I were devastated. While Maddie was still telling Florence what had happened I decided to lie down on the couch for a while.

3rd person pov:

As soon as Maddie stops talking Florence accompanies her to her room to get ready for bed.

While Duncan when he decides to go to sleep notices that Courtney had fallen asleep peacefully on the couch so he decides to pick her up as gently as possible so that she does not wake her up. Pulling her up he takes her into his bedroom, lays her down on the bed and takes off her shoes her gloves and her various jewelry then lies next to her and pulls up the blanket. As soon as Duncan gets comfortable Courtney unconsciously hugs him, Duncan smiles and wraps his arm around her waist and he too falls asleep.
