LES (Stylized as les; abbreviation for "lower east side") is the ninth single released by Russian-Korean rapper and singer Lyr. It follows the full album post rave maximalist released in 2024, and is the most recent single to date.
The song details Lyr and his romantic experiences while living in New York, referencing New York City's "Lower East Side" in the title of the single. The song uses orchestra-inspired motifs, violins and other stringed instruments mingled in the background, something that the rapper has constantly mentioned branching out into since one of his main courses when attending Berklee College of Music being classical music and jazz scores.
Lee Aruna of Teen Vogue has released her thoughts on the single, stating "Ivanov is finally starting to grow into his full potential. He's always been there, but Les shows he's starting to branch out and mature into the award-winning rapper he's always striving to be."
The song is already recieving millions of listens, currently resting at 12m on streaming services Spotify and Apple Music, and the lyric song for the single is trending at number 2 on the music hashtag of YouTube.
