Post Rave Maximalist (Stylized as post rave maximalist) is the third full album including 7 tracks written, sang, rapped, and produced by Russian-Korean rapper and singer Lyr. It follows the single BANANA SHAKE released in 2023, and is the most recent album the rapper has released.
The album went viral for its use of instrumental songs, and the title track post rave maximalist, reached number 2 on the Billboard Chart 24 hours after the album was released. Lyr mixed the songs up this time around, combining elements of breakcore, psychedelic pop, and drum & bass into the album as he delved into topics such as love, self-worth, and mental illness.
The album sold 500,000 copies in a week, and is one of the most bought pop albums of 2024. Lyr was praised for his producing of the songs, and was also praised for his use of Korean, English, and Korean respectively. The title track recieved 32m plays in 48 hours, and other popular tracks such as Save Your Tears and fucking you slow surpassed it in just a week of the album being released. Many outlets are naming this the album of 2024, and can't wait to see what more the Russian-Korean producer has in store.
