Casey was trying to take a nap before dinner when her phone rang. "Hello?" Casey asked as she answered it without checking who it was, her voice groggy. "Why weren't you replying to my messages?" Oscar asked, making Casey roll her eyes at the sound of his voice. "Because I was trying to have a nap, Oscar." Casey told him, annoyance in her voice as she rubbed the sleep from her eyes.
"Well, I'm back at the hotel if you want to come to room? I've already messaged you my room floor and number." He said, making Casey groan at the memory of agreeing to talk to him. She'd kind of forgotten. "Um, I have dinner soon." Casey told him, trying to get herself out of it. "Then you better get to my room quick, so you're not late." He said before hanging up, making Casey let out a loud sigh before letting her fall from her hand onto the mattress she was lying on.
She took a minute to try and get herself into better spirits before getting up and getting ready for dinner. Casey didn't know why, since she was only having dinner with her friends, but she felt the need to impress. She put on a little bit of make-up. She curled her hair. And Casey even pulled on a black dress. The hotel they were staying in was quite fancy, so she wasn't worried about being overdressed at the their restaurant. If anything, she'd probably still be a little underdressed.
Casey grabbed her bag, a little black one and her phone, checking it for Oscar's floor and room number. It turned out that Oscar's room was actually only round the corner from hers. It made her think of the first night they'd slept together when they found out they were staying on the same floor. It didn't take her long until she arrived at Oscar's hotel room. She hesitated knocking. She didn't want to see him. Well, she did. She really did. But she knew that no good could from seeing him.
It took her a few minutes until she was able to knock, but it took Oscar almost no time to open the door. And when he did, all he did was look at her. After a little while of silence, Casey felt the need to break it. "Hi?" Casey said, making Oscar snap back to reality instead of just staring at her like he had been. "Uh, hi." He said, a straight smile appearing on his lips.
Casey couldn't help but notice how he looked like he was just out of the shower. It annoyed Casey that he'd even open the door with how he looked. He was pretty much naked. He only had a towel around his waist. And his hair was damp, a few pieces sticking to his forehead. Oscar held the door open more and signalled for Casey to come in, but the she shook her head and raised one of her hands.
"You can say whatever you need to say to me from here." Casey told him, making him sigh. "Casey, just come in." Oscar said with the slight roll of his eyes, leaning out to grab her arm and pull her in. Casey was quick to snatch her arm back but not before she was already in the hotel room, that she had admit she didn't put much strength into staying out of. Oscar closed the door behind them before turning to face her again, crossing his arms over his chest. Casey couldn't help but let her eyes fall on his upper arms, he was practically flexing.
"So, what did you want to say?" Casey asked, breaking her and Oscar's silent staring. He let his arms fall to his sides before taking a deep breath and answering her. "I broke up with Sofia." He told her, closely studying her face for her reaction.
Casey had to try hard to not let anything show on her face. She had to admit she was glad he'd broken up with her. She hated seeing him with somebody else. However, she could sense where he was going and dreaded it. So, she tried to leave before it came to what she thought it might would.
"Okay, is that it?" Casey asked as she made a move to leave, trying to walk by him but he moved to block her path to the door. "Casey, I meant it when I said I was in love with you on your birthday." He said, looking down at her with a pained expression. All Casey could do was look back at him, looking at every inch of his brown eyes. She wanted to hear what he had to say, but also she didn't. "Oscar-" She began but was quickly cut off. "Just listen." He told her, placing his hands on her shoulders.
