Time to Go

Cordelia leans against the throne scoping out her surroundings as Jack talks to the cannibals. "No, no. Oi! No, no. No, no. Oi! No, no. More wood. Big fire. Big fire. I am Chief. Want big fire. Come on. Tout de suite. Come on. More wood," Jack tells the cannibals. He waves his arms high sure they know what he's talking about. Out of the corner of her eye, a massive black thing swoops over her. She looks but nothing there. She looks down at the black feather on the straw-covered ground. "Come on," Jack whispers. He grabs her hand and they run. They run across the bridge and down part of the mountain. Jack runs up the wall and nearly tumbles over the edge. Cora grabs the back of his shirt and hauls him away.

He smiles at her in thanks and starts looking around. She picks up a bamboo stick. Jack takes it from her and observes it until he deems it useless. Jack enters the hut searching for something, probably a tool to get across the mountain. She's about to follow him when she spots the black mass again. More feathers drop around her. She turns to find the tribe has caught up with them. "Jack," She calls. He emerges with a rope around his chest. "Oh bugger." He uncaps the paprika in his hands and uses it like deodorant. "A little seasoning, eh?" The tribe swarms the two of them. They tie them to bamboo sticks and place them above the wood they've collected. "Well done," Jack says sarcastically.

...

Will throws himself at the cage along with the crew. They've been at this for a few minutes. The cages swing back and forth. Each time brushing up against the cavern wall. On the last swing, both groups of crew members established a sound hold on the wall. "Put your legs through. Start to climb!" Will commands. They do exactly that, slowly pulling themselves up the cavern. "Come on, men! It'll take all of us to crew the Black Pearl," Will encourages. "You wouldn't need everyone. About six would do," Leech says matter of factly. The crew stare at each other. Each cage contains about six crew members.

"Oh dear," Leech says. The race is on. The first cage up wins the black pearl. Each pirate shouts encouragement to his group. A patrol cannibal crosses the bridge. "Wait. Stop," Will says. Each group stops in fear of being noticed by the patrol. Leech's group slowly starts to climb again. "Stop," Will says. They'll surely be caught. Leech gives them a grin before picking up a snake.

He looks at it and panics. "Snake!" He shouts. His group panics and loses their hold on the wall. Their cage goes swinging and the vine holding them up snaps from the force. They go plummeting to their death screaming all the way down. The pirates around Will grimace. It's then that the patrol notices them. The cannibal goes running, likely to warn the others. "Move!" Will commands.

...

The cannibals cheer loudly and dance around Jack and Cordelia. A scout or something runs into the camp. He says something and they all look at Jack. "Well go on, go get them," he orders. A cheer goes up and all of the natives clear out. A shadow passes over her again. She looks to her left to spot a pitch black pegasus landing. She feels as if the air has been ripped out of her lungs. Next to her Jack is blowing on the fire. "No, that's only gonna make it-" the fire gets bigger. "Worse," she finishes. "Not good," Jack says. "Obviously," She says sharply.

...

"Cut it loose! Find a rock!" The pirates try to exit the bone cage they're in. They hear shouting as the cannibals run at them. "Roll the cage! Come on!" Will shouts. The pirates start to move it but too slowly. "Lift it like a lady's skirt," Gibbs says. They do and run faster. Dodging arrows and spears. "Turn!" The pirates work together to flee the cannibals. They run this way and fight to not lose their footing as they head toward the beach. They shout encouragement at each other.

...

Cora summons a knife and starts cutting the rope. Next to her Jack starts bouncing on the stick trying to dislodge it. The rope gives and she lands on the ground with a thud. She groans and rolls onto her back. Jack looks her way. Concern flashes in his eyes. She waves him off. Rolling into her feet she stands. He dislodges his pole and she summons water onto the fire. He face-plants into the smoking wood and rolls onto his back. "You look like a turtle," Cordelia says, muffling her chuckle. "Very helpful love," He grumbles, getting to his feet. She raises her knife but he is already running. She runs after him. "Where are you going?" He doesn't respond. A shadow passes over her again. She looks this time seeing the pegasus following them. She can't help but smile. "So what did you plan on doing if we didn't get here?"
