*The bolded means it's in Greek*
It didn't take long for Jack to come meandering into his cabin. Cordelia had situated herself at his desk. He freezes as he watches her observe the half-baked plans of navigation on his map. "It's a good thing I'm done changing," She says. Jack makes a face. "I shouldn't have expected you to knock," She tells him, still looking at the map. He shrugs his shoulders walking toward her. "It's my cabin," He says matter of factly.
"I take it we don't have a heading?" She asks. He shakes his head. His usual charm slipped into place. "Of course I do, love. Not to worry," He tells her smoothly. She doesn't believe him one bit. "Is that why we're traveling upriver?" He comes around the back of the chair and leans over her. The beads in his hair are cold on her neck.
"These are all wonderful navigational trails to bottomless pirate sums," He tells her. He rolls up the map and throws it haphazardly behind him. Cora watches it land and roll under a dresser. "That's a great place to hide your treasure map," She says sarcastically. He places one hand on the table and the other on the back of her chair. He leans down so they are at eye level.
She raises her eyebrow at him. Whatever he was going to do he better do it quickly. His gaze drops down taking in her loose white shirt and plain black pants. "No corset?" She shrugs. "No time." His gaze travels back up to her face. They scan every bit of it. She takes a deep breath. She's not used to being studied like this. The room is filled with a heaviness that she can't handle. "Where'd you get the horse?" Of course, he'd ask that. She shrugs. "He's a pegasus and he's my brother's. His name is Blackjack if you were wondering." Jack's eyebrows furrow.
"Turner?" He questions. She rolls her eyes and lets out a laugh. She places a hand on his face. "Sometimes I wonder if there is a brain up there." He looks offended and straightens. She lets her hand slip from his face. "Of course there is love. Now get out of me chair." She doesn't move. "And what if I don't?" She raises her eyebrow. A challenge. It's been boring in Port Royal. It's about time they play their game.
A grin tugs at the corner of his mouth. His eyes darken as he leans down. "Careful love. I am captain and as captain, it is my role to punish unruly pirates." She straightens. The challenge is clear. His grin only grows. "Good thing I'm not a pirate," she quips. He leans closer. "I wouldn't be so sure." She's hyper-aware of his movements. His face is inches from hers. With his arm on the back of the chair and table, he is surrounding her. He smells of rum and the sea. His warmth is radiating around her. He's taken over her senses. She watches his eyes drop to her lips and then back up to her eyes.
If she wants she can hear his heart beating. The ebb and flow of blood being pumped by his heart. It's fast. She ignores it as he leans even closer. She leans closer, almost capturing his lips with hers. Their lips brush as the chair tips backward. She's sent sprawling onto the floor. She couldn't believe it. He pushed the chair so she'd land on her ass. She should feel embarrassed. He tricked her and made a fool out of her but she couldn't help but laugh. Such a childish move to get his chair back. She should have seen it coming. She lies on the floor laughing uncontrollably.
Jack offers her a hand. She takes it, letting him pull her to her feet. "I'll admit that was a good one," she tells him. He grins as he sits down on his chair. Jack looks to his desk to plot their course before hesitating at the lack of a map. Cora leans against the side of his chair. "So how do you plan on evading Davy Jones?" She can feel him flinch slightly.
"How was your days in Port Royal? Not good without me I'd imagine," He tries to change the subject. Cora is torn between pressing him and letting the topic slide. "You think mighty highly of yourself." Jack snorts. "No need to be embarrassed, I'm Captain Jack Sparrow. I have that effect on women," He says coyly. She rolls her eyes. "Whatever floats your boat Sparrow," She tells him.
