"You're sick?" Hyunseo asks in disbelief, her eyes going wide as I sneeze into the tissue she handed me a minute ago. "Again?" she adds, cracking an amused smile.

"I'm starting to think you have a job working with sick people or something." She hums jokingly, making Haerin chuckle beside her.

"I'm pretty sure she's been dancing under the rain," Haerin joins in, winking at Hyunseo as she nods at her words, not stopping the giggle that comes out of her mouth.

I roll my eyes at them playfully and crumple up my tissue, throwing it away with satisfaction when it lands perfectly in the bin.

"P-Please," I slur, clearing my throat as I feel my head throbbing. "I'm just—not feeling well lately."

Hyunseo frowns, not believing me. "You could always tell us, you know."

Haerin gulps and looks away, scratching the back of her neck. "U-Uh, yeah."

Hyunseo's eyes narrow on Haerin and me—and soon, Hyunseo gasps, pointing a finger at both of us.

"You told Haerin and not me?" she asks, sounding hurt as I blush shyly.

Hyunseo shakes her head disapprovingly and whines.

"That's so unfair, why does Haerin get to know but I can't?"

I smile weakly at her and take a sip from my hot chocolate.

"Because she's my best friend?" I try, smirking.

Hyunseo frowns, crossing her arms together.

"I'm your best friend too, you know." She clucks her tongue.

"But Haerin kind of figured it out herself," I say, shrugging my shoulders. "So, I didn't really tell her anything; I just added some information."

Hyunseo's eyes gleam as she starts to clap her hands together.

"Oh—can I guess then?" she asks, grinning from ear to ear, causing Haerin to chuckle.

"You can, but you'll never guess it," she replies with a teasing grin, taking a swig of her drink.

Hyunseo pouts and juts her chin to Haerin.

"If that's the case, why don't you tell us why you've been ignoring us then?" she asks in a singsong voice, arching an eyebrow as I nod my head, wondering how I could forget about that.

Haerin smirks and places down her cup, crouching forward as she makes us lean in close.

"So, remember that whole me being removed from captainship issue?" she starts slowly, making us hum in acknowledgment.

She sighs and ruffles her hair.

"Well, I talked to Coach and Yunjin, trying to figure out what's going on, and they said not to worry. I was just demoted to co-captain; only—Yunjin got the higher position."

I roll my eyes, pouting at my poor best friend.

"We all know who's the better player, though," I sigh, making Haerin smile at me in appreciation.

"Not in Coach's eyes anymore. So, I got really scared," she says, wrinkling her face together.

"I was scared they'd do worse things to you than they usually do, so I made a deal with them. They said if I stayed away from you guys for a while, they wouldn't bully you or the glee club. And also, as long as I let Yunjin freely be captain and I still go out and play my best." She ends with a few hand gestures, my jaw dropping.
