Vampires are supposed to have heightened everything. Heightened senses, heightened emotions, and heightened strength. I've always lacked in the strength department, maybe it's because I'm not a pureblood or maybe it's because I'm more cat than I am vampire. But maybe the 'vampire gods' looked down upon me today and thought it was my time to shine. I beat the big man, Felix, in an arm wrestle. How cool is that?

The waiter comes over and smiles down at the both of us seated, "What can I get you two for breakfast?"

I look over at Felix and then look back at the waiter, "I'll have the chocolate chip pancakes and.." I smile at Felix, "This eye-candy of a man will have the chocolate chip waffles." He rolls his eyes at me and then hands the menu back to the waiter, I follow suit.

The waiter takes our menus and then heads to the back with our orders written down on his notepad. I nod to the waiter as he leaves and then look back at Felix. "Eye candy?" He questions me and leans onto the table, propped up by his forearms.

"Eye candy." I repeat, a smile on my face. I mimic him and prop my forearms on the table, tilting my head and staring at him. It's kind of like I'm talking to Fenic all over again.

"You seem like a waffle kind of guy so I went ahead and got that for you. Am I at least close to being right? Or are you.. a pancakes kind of guy?" I narrow my eyes at Felix, as if interrogating him.

He leans back a bit and shrugs, "I don't know. I've never really had any of the two, so we'll find out, I guess." He crosses his arms, returning to that sort of clammed-up posture.

My eyebrows shoot up and I look at him dumbfounded, "What do you mean you've never really had any of either? What kind of person has never had waffles or pancakes?" I lightly scoff and lean back in the chair with my hands on my lap.

"...Me." He mumbles, avoiding my gaze now. Maybe he's a cereal for breakfast kind of guy. I take the hint and slowly nod, "Right. Sorry." I mumble to him and then look around the dining hall, trying to think of something to say to settle the thick tension that's now filled the room.

Most people have already left the dining hall, they get up early to have breakfast; I'm normally one of those people.

"Since you're planning on staying for longer today, what're you wanting to do?" I look back at him, putting on a smile. I've always been told my smile is 'contagious' so I'm hoping he catches it.

Felix looks back at me and shrugs, "What is there to do?"

"Uhhh.. get injured to see the hot doctor in the infirmary.." I trail off, "..steal people's clothing in the bathrooms, sleep, wait for the ball." I shrug back at him, itching at my ears.

He gives me a somewhat concerned and confused look, "Purposely.. get injured?" He kind of looks like my dad when I'd do something stupid, disappointed.

When I say it out loud, I guess it does sound pretty unethical and overall not a good idea.

"Basically." I mumble and cower more into the chair.

Our conversation is quickly cut off by the waiter coming back, two plates in hand. He sets the waffles in front of Felix and the pancakes in front of me, the syrup already perfectly drizzled onto both of our meals. "Thank you." I nod up to the waiter and he nods back before he walks off.

I look over at Felix, "Does it look up to your standards? Is it everything you hoped and dreamed of?" A smile plasters onto my face.

He looks down at the food and then up at me, he looks so over my bullshit but I've got more where that came from. "Sure it does. Just what I wanted.." He grabs the fork from the side and pokes around at the waffles as if he doesn't know how to eat it.
