"Have a great day sweetheart!" Avery's mom kissed her on the cheek. "Oh! Uh. Y-yeah mom. Thanks." Avery said. God she dreaded this so much. Today was Avery's first day at her new high school. And since that wasn't bad enough already, she was starting her senior year at age Thirteen. This year was going to be miserable. She could tell. "Oh, honey. Don't tell me you're feeling down in the dumps. You're going to have a great year! I'm sure you'll make plenty of friends!" Her mom said enthusiastically. Ugh, Right. Because of course a bunch of pubescent 17-year olds would want to befriend a 13 year old. She was glad that she had hit her growth spurt early though, then they wouldn't tower over her as much. She heard the bus as it came to a screeching halt. "Oh! That's your bus honey. I've got to head off to work." Her mom kissed her on the cheek one more time before leaving. She got onto the bus and found a seat. Well, it was officially the start of what would probably be her own personal hell for the next few months.
