As soon as Avery walked into school, she was immediately overwhelmed. There were a ton of kids in groups, chatting, laughing, but they all seemed to go quiet when they noticed Avery. Who is that? Is that a middle schooler? Did they walk into the wrong school or something? Avery just quickened her pace trying to find her first class. A downside of photographic memory was that she could remember all of those comments. While trying to find her class she bumped into a girl with blonde hair. "Oh- uh! Sorry! I wasn't watching where I was.." Avery trailed off as she took a better look at the girl. Her eyes widened in shock. "Oh.. you, look like.. uh- uhm. How.. old are you?" She asked. The girls face turned beet red and she looked down at her shoes. "I'm, uh, t-twelve.." she mumbled. "Nice! Finally someone my age!" Avery beamed. "Oh! Sorry.. I didn't realize that other people were uh, like me." she replied. "Well what's your name? I'm Avery! Avery Smith." She said. "I'm, Sophie Foster.. nice to meet you?" Sophie replied. "Great! By the way.. could help me find my class?" Avery asked. "Uh, yea-" Before she could reply, Avery hooked her arms with Sophies. Yes, she might be being a bit enthusiastic, actually, way too enthusiastic. But she could tell that she desperately needed a friend, so she would have to be as positive as possible. And maybe, just maybe, she could have a good school year.
