This is gonna be a bit more different. It's more narrarated and not a story. Like narrarating their thoughts, but not directly- like- eh you'll figure it out idk how to explain it.

Mechanical heart.
Such an un-human thing.
Yet such a common thing among them.
Or at least for many.
See, a mechanical heart could reffer to many things;
A robot.
The heart of a machine.
Or
A "human".
That is what mechanical heart reffers to in this case.
A so called human, but not.

See, there's a man. Well- two men, but that's for later.
Chuuya Nakahara.
("man" is an overstatement)
He believes he isn't human.
He honestly probably isn't human.
He believes he was made from a lab experiment.
Because he was.
He is a lab rat.
Nothing more.
An empty body with a mechanical heart.
Because that's what he is, in all honesty.
He is simply
No longer human.

Then, there's Dazai. Osamu Dazai.
A sorrowful child, left to fend for himself in a world full of selfish, prideful humans.
He does not believe he is human.
Because he is not.
He is a tainted, unclean. Ugly.
A tainted sorrow.
He knows that. And he hates himself for it.

You may think these two have their problems in common.
But you would be wrong in most circumstances.
They are the same yet still very different.
The mind and the heart.
Very similar, yet very different.
.
As you know, because I explained before, neither chuuya not dazai think or believe themselves as human.
They do not see a way that humanity in it of itself could possibly be crafted and molded into their heart and soul.
Because they do not have one.
They are not human.
And yet, the other thinks otherwise.
Osamu Dazai does not think he is human.
But Nakahara Chuuya does. He truly believes that beyond that cold, empty, tainted and sorrowful gaze, there's humanity lying within.
He claims, "Nobody that could call themselves inhuman could possibly get on my nerves so often, so much it makes me want to punch them in the face."
He truly does believe that Osamu is human.
And same with Dazai.
Chuuya Nakahara believes that Dazai is human, yet he cannot bring himself to believe that he himself is human.
Yet Dazai does.
Chuuya thinks of himself as 2,383 lines of code some random researchers wrote off of the top of their heads.
Yet Dazai believes he is human.
Maybe one day one will convince the other of their humanity.
. . . Maybe . . .
. . . Maybe not . . .
