"So, how was the game", asked the woman in a red bodycon while carelessly draping her fingers on his forearm.

Kenan flinched before relaxing again and pulling away an inch.

"It was, I don't know, a disaster"

He hated the way this woman thought she had the right to roam his body, acting as if he's all hers only because his mom recommended her.

Of course, as a famous footballer a lot of gold diggers are bound to show up and shamelessly make moves, but he thought that at least his mother could make better judgment.

He sighed and looked towards the setting sun and the city it overlooked.

He was homesick, but yet he was at home.

This foreign feeling which made him keep his distance from everyone was heavily ongoing and he had no idea what to do with it.

Maybe he could just go along with this one, and perhaps she could turn out to be a good wife, how could he know what someone's like behind closed doors?

He hated prejudice which people held to one's they don't know, so why was he judging people based on few things he knows, or thinks he knows about them.

Based on her promiscuity in the way she was clothed and what she was holding in her hand, a glass of wine, he hardly thought of her any higher than the waitress that would come every now and then asking if everything is to their liking.

What he's trying to understand is why anyone would put their life away for money and pleasure.

He had no idea what to read in those siren eyes of hers except the mischievous glint of seduce that was lurking in the darkest corners of her green orbs.

And his mother keeping an active eye on them wasn't helping the situation at all.

He made an awkward smile nodding at whatever she was saying, reaching out for the chocolates on the table besides them.

The restaurant balcony was an exquisite view and would in any other circumstance make an ideal place for a date but at this moment made him at unease even more.

"You will?"

He choked a bit on his chocolate before he looked at her confused.

He probably nodded unconsciously at whatever she was saying and didn't pay notice to anything she said.

"I'm sorry what"

"Uh, I said I'm going to Bosnia for the weekend with my parents so I thought that", she put her hand on his shoulder.

"Maybe you would like to join us"

Kenan scratched the back of his neck and laughed nervously, trying to shake the weird feel of her hand on him away.

"Ooh, that'd be lovely but I think I can't this weekend I have to check with my mo-"

"I already asked her and she said you were free and had nothing to work for these days anyway"

And there goes his only excuse.

"Well, um, great I guess"

She looked at him wide eyed.

"So that's a yes?"

He couldn't bring himself to directly reject her so just shrugged wordlessly.

She shrieked with unsolicited gleam in her eyes.

"I'm glad"

As she was leaning towards him Kenan had a split moment realisation that what she was going for was a kiss on the cheek so he stood from his seat so fast he got momentarily dizzy.

"Uu, I think my mom is calling for me. Sorry. Uh, see you"

He scrambled up those last few words and without another look proceeded to go over to his mother, nodding once in her direction ignoring her piercing stare which would any other time cause him to stand still but now he was bewildered and caught up in everything that was happening to care.

He just continued up to the exit and once the cold autumn air hit his face he could finally let go of the breath he didn't know was holding this whole time.

Kenan just knew he was in for a lecture once he was back home.

---

"What time is this that you try to ruin my plans of setting you up you ungrateful shit?"

"You do realize it will look bad for you if you don't have someone and I am most certainly not going to be caring for you wherever the hell you go for your stupid games!"

He looked everywhere but at her while she was scolding him for 'almost ruining' the engagement.

"Look at me when I talk to you!"

She walked up to him with a finger in his face.

"You are going on this holiday with Azra and her parents and I couldn't care less what you think"

"Okay, okay, can I go to sleep now"

Any third person would look at this conversation as unnecessary.

Why would someone even ask his mother for permission to go to sleep?

Those kinds of daydreams where you were free to do whatever you want were a luxury, and one that Kenan did not possess to even think of.

You get used to it after almost two decades under the strict rule of his mother.

His father more or less didn't pay much attention to him, other than generously financing his every event and training, he never made any 'parent' move.

"Go, just go. Get out of my sight"

Even though he was of legal age and supposed to be a grownup he still felt the void inside him where the motherly and fatherly love was never filled.

He went to sleep that night feeling that exact way.

---

The morning of the day finally arrived - the holiday.

Kenan cringed at the thought and tried to instead concentrate on how to get his luggage out of the taxi that drove him to the airport.

He almost tripped twice while getting inside but finally managed to get to where Azra and her parents were.

He muttered a greeting and in return got monotonous looks from them and a girly squeal from his now fiance.

"I'm super excited for this trip I've barely got any sleep last night"

She kept on ratting on her life and how a nuisance it was that her nails were done poorly so now she had to pay for a 'low life' to do it in Bosnia or wherever they were going.

"So if I accidently just happen to, yknow, fall asleep, I guess I can always look at you as my pillow" she said with a wink and plastered what was supposed to be a seducing smile over her face.

Kenan gulped and prayed none of such would happen.

Halfway into the flight he could sense her fake breathing and snoring and her accidentally falling on his shoulder but he just pushed her as lightly as he could to the side.

He could see her pout the tiniest bit at his gentle but rejecting shove and he couldn't help but smile at her miserable attempts.

If nothing, at least he could enjoy a free comedy show these two days.
